"Just tell us where you hid the key, damn it!" A senior officer slammed his hands on his desk. He had white specs in his dark hair and a exhausted looking face with all the statements he had to record for the morning. "Your face is caught on camera."
A man sat nonchalantly in front of him with a leg brace, "Just because I'm on camera -"
"Leaving the gated front yard." The officer said sat back in his chair with a deep sigh. "If the forensic team comes back and we see finger prints, you're done for. So just do us a favor now and admit it."
"Like I said for the hundredth time, you got nothing and I don't have it. Can't I leave now? The old hag probably forgot where she placed her key. Dementia is more common now, y'know."
The officer stood up with his hand raise, but took another deep breath and sat back down. "Witnesses saw you leave her bedroom window and into the front yard. The landlord was home for God's sake. Chunjo, tell me where the key is. How could you do that to your own aunt?"
"I don't know anything!" Chunjo shouted and kicked the side of the desk with his foot, "I can sue you for brutality! Look what your officers did to me!" He pointed to his leg and the bandages on his arm. A woman sitting in the waiting area caught his eye and he started flirting from across the room. She took the lollipop out from her mouth and gave him a seductive look. She stood up with a smile and walked towards them. He gave her a kissy face which she ignored to his surprise.
"Officer Kwang." She greeted the man sweetly. She had wavy black hair and a fair complexion. She wore a long gray coat with a white knitted sweater underneath and a black maxi skirt paired with black boots. The officer greeted her with a smile while Chunjo looked her up and down.
"You've come to visit again? I haven't seen Captain Lee come by yet. He might still be in the other building."
"That's alright." She pointed her lollipop at the man's brace. "You might want to check that if your team hasn't already. He was limping when he came in, but he used the exact same foot to kick the desk just now. So, are you really in pain?"
Chunjo's face turned white and pretended to wince in pain. "Y-You can't check me without a reason! I can sue!"
"I'll take the chance when we get there." Officer Kwang thanked the woman. Chunjo made a break towards the door, but before he could leave, he fell backwards.
"A-Are you okay?" Jisung bent over to help the man up who shakily backtracked.
"Nice, Detective Park!" Officer Kwang grabbed Chunjo from the collar and threw him in his chair. He made Chunjo take off his brace and the key fell out. "You...no good...punk."
"What's going on here?" Captain Lee entered the station, curious as to why it was noisy compared to when he visited moments ago.
"Ms. Yeonwoo just help me catch this punk in his lie. We can call the team back now. Hopefully, your aunt sticks to pressing charges." He shakes his head and hauls him into a holding cell while he muttered.
"Shall we?" Captain Lee walked Yeonwoo to one of the meeting rooms. Jisung watched them turn the corner before he gestured to one of his colleagues over.
"Who was that?" He asked and his colleague laughed.
"She's out of your league." The man smacked his shoulder with a folder. "Kim Yeonwoo was a hostage victim for one of our cases recently. The one where the perp held ten preschool kids, two teachers and Yeonwoo captive. Yeonwoo was volunteering at the time when the guy came into the day care. Turns out he was the father of one of the kids and was involved in a nasty domestic abuse allegation. Things got heated and Yeonwoo had a gun to her head, but she was saved by your team, the Captain was the one who saved her. " The excitement in his voice grew, "Bang! One shot to the shoulder. I wish I was there to see it. Apparently he did it with one hand too while the other he held the perp's kid. Since then, she's been volunteering her time being a victims advocate for one of the companies we work with."
