*Sabrina's POV*
"Riiight" Mariah sais with an awkward look.
"What?" I laugh.
"I don't know. I just don't think he's everything you think about.""Eh. Could be wrong. I mean, we've known him for a few weeks." Mariah thinks for a moment then nods.
"You're just something else, Sabrina." Mariah laughs.
"Can't wait to see Toast tomorrow, huh?"
"I'm just excited." I look over to the window and back at her.
"Even the nickname is exciting."That only made her roll her eyes. I didn't mind, she just smiled and left the room afterwards.
*Mariah's POV*
Sabrina is losing it. Since we always go to Starbucks (and work there), we ended up finding out about a new employee there. His name is Kyle, but we gave him a nickname. Toast. Seems legit. He's thin, polite, handsome, and funny. He's 21.. I found that out because his birthday was a few days ago. Sabrina and I are 19, though.
We actually work in the same café with Kyle. Coffee is just amazing. But we have to go to work right now.
"Brina! Come on, let's go."
Her and I race out of our apartment. We are walking distance from our job."Hey, Murr. I need help reaching this." I watch her as her dark hair falls further over her right eye as she reaches for a box on a shelf.
"Hold on." I was about to walk over.
"Here, I got it." Someone sais.I pause and watch Kyle, I mean, Toast, walk up and reach for the box. Brina is much shorter than I am, but also, Toast is about an inch taller than me. Brina clears her throat.
"Uh.. Thanks." She blushed.
"No problem." He only winks then leaves. After that, Sabrina was all giddy every second."Girl, you need a decaf next time you get a coffee." Sabrina looks at the customer.
"What did you just say?!" Oh goodness, there's the death glare."I was just saying, you seem too hyper. You might need to cool down on the coffee." o.O
"Don't you ever say that to me again. I will hurt you in so many ways that have never even been invented yet! Do you understand?!!" The customer's eyes widen.
"I'm sorry."
"Are you!!"
"Yes!"
"Alright, here's your coffee, sir."He walks away with his coffee, luckily alive. never mention decaf with Brina. Never. Also, Toast didn't notice her little decaf scene, which I'm sure she's thankful. That could've ended up bad for her.
"As I'm setting my sail, I'm headed for the Empire State! I don't wanna lose this one, he makes me feel whole!"
We sing to the radio during our lunch break."You know, I-I-I-I am nothing without looove! Woo!"
We smile at each other and laugh. I think I love this part of the day. Singing to Nate Ruess always makes Brina giddy."Baby, show me a sign.." I stop as Toast walks around the corner in the break room, but Brina keeps singing.
"Send up a signal that everything's fine. C'mo-" she finally stops when she sees him.It was silent for a moment.
"Did I interrupt something?" Toast asked us.
"What? No. We weren't doing anything.." I reply, noticing Brina blush. She really couldn't speak.
"Oh, alright. I just.. Needed to get something for Larry." (Our boss) Damn you, Larry.*Some Moments Later*
"Murr, our shift is over."
I watched Brina as she dances over to me, singing and carrying our coffee. She always gets us a coffee right before we leave. Usually French vanilla coffee because she said Nate Ruess smells like that. And heaven. I'm very happy they're free.I'm glad we walk everyday, we're fit because of it. Brina is crazy, though.
Walking helps her think, which it scares me. She's thinking about our plans for tomorrow (Saturday) and she always wants to do exciting things. Unfortunately, they either include her favorite band or would end with the possibility of cops.
We'll think of something to do.
