Academic Year: 2020 - 2021

The gymnasium was abuzz with energy as student council members darted around, putting the final touches on the freshmen welcoming event. Behind the scenes, the chaos was expertly managed by the student council, each member assigned to keep everything in check. At the heart of it all was Ahn Yunoh, the vice president, his clipboard in hand.

"Is this all the freshmen?" Yunoh asked, his sharp gaze scanning the bustling gym. "Almost," replied a girl with glasses, barely looking up from her phone. "The headcount has reached 97 out of 155." Her tone was crisp, efficient, as she swiped to refresh the attendance list.

Yunoh nodded, making a quick note on his clipboard before his phone vibrated in his pocket. Bzzt... bzzt... bzzt. Fishing it out, he glanced at the screen. It was their president, Gaeul.

"Hello? Where are you, Prez?" he asked, stepping away from the noise. His voice carried a note of concern. Cough, cough. "Sorry, Yunoh. I don't think I can go today," Gaeul replied, her voice raspy and weak between coughs. "It's fine," Yunoh said immediately, his brows furrowing. "How are you feeling now?" Concern was evident in his tone as he leaned against the wall, tuning out the noise around him. "A lot better than when I woke up. I'm really sorry, Yunoh."

"Like I said, it's fine," he assured her gently. "We've got everything handled here. Don't worry about us. Just focus on resting and getting better."

"That's my vice for you," Gaeul said softly, though her weak laugh was interrupted by another cough. "I'll hang up now and get some more rest. Thank you, Yunoh."

"No problem, Prez. Get well soon," he replied before ending the call. With a sigh, Yunoh tucked his phone back into his pocket and turned his focus to the preparations, slipping seamlessly back into his role.

Yunoh rejoins the busy council members. "By the way, Yunoh, no sign of Pres yet?" asked Hanni, one of the council members, as she approached him after finishing her task. "Yeah," Yunoh replied, glancing at her. "She called me earlier. She's sick and had to take a rest day. I'll be substituting for her speech." Hanni nodded, concern flickering briefly across her face before she got back to business. "Got it. What's next?"

"Hanni, notify everyone that we'll start in ten minutes," Yunoh instructed, glancing at his watch. "Will do." Hanni gave a quick nod and headed backstage.

A few moments later, Hanni's voice came over the sound system.

"Mic test... mic test... Good morning, everyone~" Her tone was clear and cheerful as it echoed through the gym. "I'd like to announce that this year's freshmen welcoming will start in ten minutes. If you have classmates who are outside or about to enter the school premises, please let them know. Once again, good morning~" She took a graceful bow and left the stage, her calm professionalism setting the tone for the event.

The minutes flew by, and the gymnasium gradually filled with students. Laughter and chatter mingled with the background hum of the air conditioning, creating a lively atmosphere. Yunoh stood near the backstage area, checking his clipboard once more.

"Hanni, headcount update," he called out to the girl beside him. "152 out of 155," she reported, her phone in hand. "We can proceed in two minutes." As Yunoh nodded in approval, Hanni turned to look at him fully and tilted her head, a small frown crossing her face. His tie was askew, his blazer looked crumpled, and his hair was an unruly mess. She let out a small sigh and stepped closer.
