The days in London blurred into one long, beautiful memory. Olivia and Louis spent the next few days together, exploring hidden corners of the city that tourists rarely saw. Each outing felt more like a date, but neither of them had put a label on it. There was an unspoken understanding that something was building between them, something neither of them was ready to name yet.

It was on the fifth day, as they walked through Hyde Park, that the air between them shifted. They had grown comfortable with each other's presence—laughing at silly things, sharing quiet moments, and even discussing their deepest insecurities without hesitation. But that afternoon, a certain tension had settled in the air, one that neither knew how to address.

They had just finished a quiet walk around the Serpentine Lake, the afternoon sun casting long shadows over the path, when Olivia stopped and turned toward him. Her eyes were serious, not the playful, teasing ones she usually wore.

"Louis, what are we doing?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Louis looked at her, a mixture of surprise and contemplation in his eyes. He had felt it too, the growing pull between them, but he hadn't expected her to address it so openly.

"I don't know." His answer was simple, but it carried weight.

Olivia bit her lip, thinking carefully. She had been toying with the idea of pursuing something with Louis, but she was hesitant. There were too many unknowns. Too many complications.

"I mean... this—us—feels right, but it also feels... complicated," she continued, glancing down at their intertwined fingers.

Louis stepped closer, his expression softening. He reached out and gently tilted her chin up so that she was looking at him.

"I get it," he said, his voice steady. "It's complicated. We live in different worlds, and I don't know what the future holds. But I can't ignore what I'm feeling."

Olivia swallowed, feeling her heart race. She knew what he meant. She felt it too—this undeniable connection. But there was also the reality of their lives.

"And what if it all falls apart? What if I end up on tour and never see you again?"

Louis took a deep breath, his hand still gently cupping her face.

"Then we take it one step at a time. No expectations. No pressure. Just... us."

For a moment, Olivia hesitated. The fear of the unknown gnawed at her, but in Louis's eyes, she saw something that made her feel safe. Something real.

"One step at a time?" she asked, her voice tentative.

"Yeah," he said, offering a soft smile. "Let's not rush. Let's just see where this goes."

Olivia's heart skipped a beat, and for the first time in a long while, she felt like she could breathe easy. She nodded, her lips curving into a smile of her own.

"Okay, one step at a time."

Louis leaned in slightly, his forehead resting gently against hers.

"I'm glad you said that."

Just as she was about to reply, her phone buzzed in her pocket. With a sigh, she pulled it out, seeing a message from her manager.

"Olivia, you're due for a soundcheck in an hour. We need to get going."

Her heart sank a little. The bubble they had been in was quickly bursting. She looked up at Louis, a mixture of regret and longing in her eyes.

"I have to go. My team's waiting for me."

Louis nodded, stepping back reluctantly. "Of course. I'll walk you to your car."

They walked side by side through the park, neither saying much, both lost in their own thoughts. The weight of the conversation still lingered between them.

When they reached the entrance of the park, Olivia turned to him, her voice soft but firm.

"Louis..."

He looked at her, eyebrows raised, waiting for her to continue.

"I'm really glad I met you," she said, her words sincere.

Louis smiled warmly, his eyes twinkling. "Me too."

She reached out and pulled him into a quick hug, her arms wrapping around him tightly. He hugged her back, his hand resting gently on her back.

As they pulled apart, he smiled. "I'll see you soon?"

Olivia nodded, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Yeah. One step at a time."

And with that, she turned and walked away, her heart full of uncertainty, but also hope. Louis watched her leave, feeling the same. Whatever this was—whatever it could become—he was willing to take the risk. Because sometimes, the best things in life happened when you least expected them.
