Jungkook POV

"Would you like more syrup?" I asked as I held out the bottle of syrup to Taehyung. Bits of waffle and the gooey texture of syrup were splattered across his lips and surrounding area.

I should clean that up for him.

With my tongue.

I pour a generous handful of syrup, watching it coat the waffles deliciously. Taehyung's eyes light up as he quickly grabs his fork, cutting out a perfect bite and then offering it to me. With a grin, he urges, "Eat." I smile as I let him push the fork into my mouth.

"If we weren't in this cafe right now," I start, "I would've eaten you up."

"Eat me? Baked or fried?" Taehyung grins and I chuckle.

"I meant in another way," I say, making my little mate blush. "Ooooooh the baby's blushing."

"Shut up," Taehyung says as he takes another bite from the waffle. "If you weren't a big bad werewolf, then I would've whooped your ass."

"Ouch that stings," I say, sarcastically. "Are you discriminating against my species?"

"That is exactly what I'm doing," Taehyung retorts. "Jungkook-ah?"

"Yes, little birdie?" I reply.

His tone lowers a bit as he leans in to whisper, "If we have sex, would we be officially mated?"

It has been 2 weeks since I told Taehyung about who I am and the questions have been never-ending. "Yes, we would be officially mated, just without the mark."

"Ohh," Taehyung hums. "So, if I jump over the table and land right on your lap, would you fuck me?"

"Little birdie, you should know how hard it is for me to hold myself back when I'm just looking at you. What do you think would happen if my meal jumps on me?" I chuckle at his question. "Anyways, what's up with this sex talk?"

"I was just wondering," Taehyung says. "You know, I've been researching about werewolves. I read this particularly interesting thing."

"What was it?" I ask.

"It was about heat and rut cycles," Taehyung says.

"Oh, I didn't tell you about them, did I?" I mutter.

"Heats are when an Omega gets horny and ruts are when Alphas get horny, right?" Taehyung exclaims. 

"Yes, that is correct. But its not just being 'horny'. For omegas, they are most fertile during their heat cycles. They tend to get emotional over tiny things, need their alphas, or betas, close to them and are in pain if they don't have sex," I explain. "For Alphas, ruts are very rough. The Alpha loses almost all control over their body and the only thing that drives them is the need to claim their partner in the most primal way. They get extremely possessive and mostly don't let their partners leave the bed for days or see anyone, in particular."

"Oh wow," Taehyung gulps. "Do you go into rut?" The way he says it sends a thrill coursing through my body. His voice is tinted with need, I can tell. 

My mate is turned on.

I can feel it.

"I do, little birdie," I reply. "My last cycle was 3 months ago."

Taehyung nervously bites his lips. "D-do I get heat cycles since I'm mated to you?" His cheeks were flushed with embarrassment, making me smile.

"Yes, you do. But they're just not as extreme as they are for omegas," I say. 

"Oh my god," Taehyung squeaks. "Wait, would I get pregnant?" 

"No, you can't get pregnant, little birdie," I chuckle.
