After the violent attack of the demons, the atmosphere in the guild was heavy. Eldric and Lira, still absorbing the horrors they had witnessed, felt that the calm of the city had been irretrievably broken. What was once a quiet haven now became a vulnerable target. The need for defense was clearer than ever.
Kael, a leader of a team of adventurers with some influence, called an emergency meeting with the leaders of all the guilds, and the main adventurers gathered in a large hall. The light from the torches flickered, casting dancing shadows on the walls as tension permeated the room.
"We urgently need a strategy to protect our city," Kael began, his voice firm and resolute. "The attack we faced was only a fraction of what these demons are capable of. If we are not quick and precise, we will not be able to repel a larger attack."
Eldric and Lira listened attentively. The meeting turned into a fervent debate about how best to fortify the city. Suggestions about higher walls, traps around city limits, and even the creation of day and night patrols were discussed. Each idea was bolder than the last, and the determination of the adventurers was palpable.
"We need allies," suggested one guild member. "We can contact other cities and ask for reinforcements. We cannot face this threat alone."
"I agree," said another, "but we also need more intensive training for all adventurers. If we face stronger demons, everyone will need to be ready for battle."
Kael nodded, accepting the proposal. "We will do that. We will train everyone available and seek reinforcements from neighboring cities. The peace we have was built on blood and sweat, and we cannot allow it to crumble because of demonic creatures."
After the meeting, Eldric and Lira headed to the training ground, where the adventurers were already preparing for the next cycle of intensive training. Lira joined a group of archers, honing his skills, while Eldric practiced with the sword, determined to become stronger.
During training, Eldric saw the sparkle in Lira's eyes. There was a flame of determination that he hadn't seen in a while. "You're doing really well," he remarked, admiring your skills.
"Thank you! But I still have a lot to learn. We have to be stronger, Eldric," she replied, keeping her focus on her target.
The following weeks were intense. The city has turned into a hub of activity, with patrols forming, equipment being bolstered, and a steady stream of adventurers arriving in search of protection and assistance.
But deep down, Eldric and Lira knew that this was just the beginning. As the sky grew darker and darker with the imminence of new threats, they were determined to fight not only for the city, but for every life it harbored.
Eldric couldn't help but feel that the lull would be brief. He and Lira were more than just adventurers now; They were defenders of a city that was on the brink of chaos. They were determined to protect what was left of peace, and they were ready to take on any challenge that loomed on the horizon.
