As the three critters waited anxiously for a certain [color] haired maiden to enter the living room, Sebek had long since stopped his emotional outburst, and was now wrapped in other emotions: irritation and helplessness.
"It's humiliating! To think, I, Sebek Zigvolt, am reduced to this-a mere creature that can't even stand on two legs! How am I supposed to protect Lord Malleus like this?!" he gritted his teeth, as close as a rabbit can manage.
"None of us can, Sebek. That's what makes this so difficult. We're used to wielding strength, magic, purpose... but now we can barely communicate properly." Silver responded calmly, though his ears visibly twitch in discomfort.
As soon as they heard familiar sounds of foot steps, their quiet exchange of words halted. Their eyes then trailed over your approaching figure. There was a hint of both confusion and reassurance etched on your face. "This is seriously concerning..." you murmured, laying the ebony rabbit down on the couch.
"Mal..." Lilia was the first to react. "You're all drenched.. what happened?"
Malleus' emerald eyes glimmered with faint hesitation as he met Lilia's gaze. His damp fur clung to his small frame, a visible testament to his ordeal. He shifted slightly before speaking, his tone steady but tinged with uncertainty. "It is... difficult to comprehend, even for me," he admitted, his voice-though soft-still carrying the regal weight of his character. "But I will try to explain what little I can."
While the two were starting a conversation, you hurried off without notice, presumably towards the kitchen. Thankfully, their words aren't really coherent to you, only decoding as squeaks and small noises, so they've no worries with you comprehending them.
"I'm not entirely sure what happened," Malleus continued, his voice thoughtful, "but there was a moment-a brief yet overwhelming moment-where I felt as though I were burning from within. It wasn't fire in the physical sense, but a searing intensity... unbearable, suffocating."
