Prologue

A pair of four year old twins hold one another close while they listen to the shouting that belonged to their beloved parents.

"You're never home! Always on ANBU missions! You don't say 'I love you' to either me or the kids! You're not fit to be a father!"

The sound of glass shattering echoes throughout the household and both twins whimper, moving closer to eachother while shivering.

"Why do they always fight?" Sakura whimpers, clutching her older twin sister tighter.

On the outside, the Haruno family seemed like the typical happy ninja family. The father - Kizashi Haruno - a high ranking ninja and a loving mother - Mebuki Haruno - to a pair of twin daughters.

But that was just an Illusion.

The two parents who were supposed to love eachother unconditionally fought constantly. The household was always at an uproar and the angry shouts never ceased.

Their father was never home and their mother did her best to show her children the love and kindness that their father didn't provide.

The twins tightly squeezed their eyes shut and wish for the yelling to stop. Eventually, it did.

-

"Mama, why am I leaving with papa?" The unfortunate twin asks in confusion. "Why am I leaving you and Sakura?"

Her mother had tears pooling in her eyes but made an effort to smile for the daughter she chose to leave with her husband.

"You're going on a trip with daddy, okay?" She says, her voice cracking while looking into her daughters eyes. "Sakura and I will be here, but you'll live with daddy for a while. I know you'll be lonely, but before you know it, you'll be back."

Hana - the unfortunate twin - nods in confusion, only being four years old, but smiles non the less at her mother.

"Okay, mama! I'll see you soon!" she smiles enthusiastically.

Her mother just pulls her daughter close, her shoulders shaking in sorrow and shame. Guilt pulled at Mebuki's chest. 'I didn't have a choice,' she tried to reassure herself. 'Hana is the strongest of the two. Sakura wouldn't survive with their father.'

Hana glances at her mother in confusion. She was crying.

Later, she says her goodbyes to her twin - Sakura.

"I'll miss you, but don't be too sad! I'll visit soon!" Hana says enthusiastically and gives her twin a big smile.

Sakura clutches her twin tightly, hugging her. She smiles before saying, "I'll miss you onee-chan! See you soon!"

Hana waves to the two left behind while Kizashi stands farther in the shadows, overlooking his broken family.

They had gotten a divorce, but the twins were too young to understand, so each parent had gotten a twin.

Their mother objected, knowing that her child wouldn't be able to grow up in a happy and joyful environment, but as the father, Kizashi had the right and insisted on Hana.

The child had an unbelievable amount of chakra for her age and Kizashi believes with the right training, she could be molded into the perfect ninja and be unstoppable.

Kizashi now had no use for the other twin or their mother. With Hana as his protégé, he didn't care for much more. His daughter would surpass even him.

The agreements of their deal though, was that Hana had to return to Konoha at the age of 12, in time for the graduation exams.

He agreed and that was the last time Sakura saw her happy, outgoing twin.

She was gone. Stripped of her personality by her own father. The perfect ninja.
