This world was imperfect—world constantly in danger because of an entity called the Spirit. The reckless act bringing forth the calamity performed by the wizard society had caused a great chaos across the globe.
If only these impurities could be wiped out. A new dawn would surely be welcomed—an era that would bring forth a new order.
Finally, after a long time, the machinations of fate had aligned with the grand plan. Soon, a new ERA would dawn upon this world.

Morning arrived.
The bed was so so. It was good enough for my body to have a soft mattress.
I had changed into more of a casual outfit and not my spirit outfit. Then with a relaxed stride, I walked outside of my apartment trying inhaling the fresh air.
Yeah, tried.
To my surprise, the front door was guarded by several people. Each of them I had known from the previous night. Every apartment to my left and right had been rented to house additional guards.
The supposed peaceful morning was disturbed by the constant noise of walkie-talkies and armored car moving in and out from the area.
Then someone from the crowd of those tactical guards emerged. Someone who I hadn't met for a long time.
"Muzka."
"Yes, the Chosen One. Praise ERA for her gift; to be blessed by your presence alone is an honor for all of us."
Now that I looked closely, wasn't this guy sketchy? Sure, I was the anti-hero from the perspective of Shido & Co., but Muzka had the aura of an evil mastermind.
"Long time no see. Anyway, I will go sightseeing outside."
"Of course, Allow one my subordinate to escort you."
"Yeah. What ever."
I I remembered her from the SUV. Clad in black tactical gear, she had removed her balaclava and helmet, revealing a strikingly beautiful face and golden hair that gleamed in the sunlight.
"First Lieutenant Akasia, reporting for duty," she saluted.
"Alright, Akasia, I want to stroll the city peacefully, so change your entire outfit."
She nodded and disappeared into another room, returning almost instantly in a blue dress and a white hat. A large backpack was slung over her shoulder.
We headed downstairs and reached a pedestrian crossing. Without hesitation, she took my hand as we crossed the street.
Frankly, the walk to the city district took longer than expected, and I was growing tired.
I spotted an open area with a playground nearby and a bench shaded by a tree.
I tugged at Akasia's sleeve and pointed to the bench. "Let's rest there."
"Yes, ma'am."
She offered me a carton of strawberry milk from her backpack—a drink suited for children, not someone of my stature.
"Do you think I'm a child?"
Her expression turned crestfallen as she tucked the milk back into her bag.
"Alright, alright, give it to me."
As I drank, a woman pushing a baby stroller passed by and smiled at Akasia. "What a cute kid."
