* I sat around for 5 minutes until Mom came back. *

IR: I'm back.

IC: How could you do that?

IR: What do you mean?

IC: I was about to get Jonah's number.

IR: You don't have time to fall in love when the fate of the world is in our hands!

IC: So you just want me to drop everything in my life, so I focus on training?

IR: Yeah that's exactly what I want you to do. Until the world is safe from destruction, you need to be training 24/7.

IC: That's not fair! You can't do that to me.

IR: I am your mother, so I can!

IC: I am a grown woman, so I can decide things for myself. Look, I have to go to work, at least I have that. * I started walking away. *

IR: I actually called and quit for you. * I stopped. *

IC: You did what?!

IR: You need to put all of your energy into becoming a superhero.

IC: Are you aware that that job is what pays my tuition? How am I supposed to pay for school now? You know teaching is my dream, and you just ruined that for me! Thanks alot, Mom.

IR: Irene, I-

IC: Stop, just- just save it. * I started walking away. I got an uber back to my dorm. *

AL: There you are! Where have you been? You missed all of today's classes.

IC: Family emergency. I don't want to talk about it.

AL: Okay, what happened to your clothes? They're burnt.

IC: You don't want to know.

AL: Alright. So, are you going to change before we head to work?

IC: Nope. I quit.

AL: What?! How are you supposed to pay tuition?

IC: Exactly. * I went into my room and shut the door. I changed into some sweats and got out my computer to finish my essay. When I was done I got a DM on Insta. I looked and it was from Jonah. *

JM: Hey, it's Jonah from earlier.

IC: Hey, how are you? I never got to ask. After the fire we should've gotten you to a hospital.

JM: I'm fine, trust me. Thank you for asking.

IC: Of course. So, what can I do for you? There must be some reason you DM'd me.

JM: Yes, I was wondering if I could take you out on a date. I know we haven't known each other for very long but I wanna change that. So what do you say?

IC: That sounds like a great idea, but I have to warn you, I am not an outside person or a people person.

JM: I will take note of that. Can I pick you up at 7?

IC: Actually, can you meet me at Starbucks, where I work? Same time is fine.

JM: That sounds great. I'll meet you there.

IC: Great. See you soon.

JM: See ya. * I put down my phone and squealed. *

IC: I have a date! * I took a shower and got dressed. When I was done I got an Uber to Starbucks. 5 minutes later Jonah showed up. *

IC: Hey.

JM: Hi, you look gorgeous.

IC: Thank you. So, where are we going?
