It was a dreadfully grey day, the kind that even an imagination can't save you from, the sun was trying to shine as bright as it could behind what looked like an army of clouds. One might even feel pity for the sun, as it so desperately tried to shine on such a gloomy day. The sound of singing began to fill the air, bringing life to what seemed like a dying world, a group of girls are picking strawberries in a nearby field. One girl, who had dark hair, big brown eyes, and a few beauty marks scattered across her olive face, hummed along as another, with a similar yet slightly younger face and freckles that covered her nose, tapped along the bucket as she dropped the sweet red berries in.

They both seemingly follow along with the last girl's melody; she, yet again, had a face just like both the girls that surround her, but her eyes shined as bright as the ocean. She sang what sounds like a sweet lullaby you sing to comfort a crying child on a dark threatening night. They all worked around each other, like gears in a well-oiled machine, filling each bucket up with the perfectly ripe berries. A soft voice interrupted the mesmerizing noise coming from the blue-eyed girl.

"Diana?" the brown-eyed girl said beginning to stand up, in her burnt sienna skirt with a garden of embroider flowers used to disguise any holes that may have developed overtime, and dusting her hands off using the edges of her sage-colored apron "I think we are finished for the day".

"Well, I guess it seems so Irene" responded the blue-eyed girl while tucking her red curls behind her ear, her voice was not as soft but instead had a slight rasp to it. She stood up from the ground revealing her multi-layered skirt, each layer a darker blue than the one before, paired with a white blouse that hanged off her freckled shoulders. "Come along Phoebe, and don't forget" she turned to look at her younger sister "You have to carry my bucket for the rest of the week"

"And why is that?" Phoebe said while scrunching her nose and eyebrows together to make her well-known displeased face. Dropping her bucket to the floor, while a few berries bounce out and onto the ground, she took a few steps closer to Diana.

"Because" Diana replied with a smirk forming on her perfectly pink lips "You arrived home late again last night, I can't keep distracting mother while you sneak around with Aiden."

"She right" giggled Irene "She's been playing the piano every night for the past week to keep mother from checking in on you". Irene bent down picking up the berries off the ground and returning them to their rightful place. "Fair is fair" she said smiling at both of her younger sisters, as she led the way back home with Diana quickly following behind. Phoebe let out an annoyed yet grateful sigh, while picking up two full buckets, simultaneously thinking about the farm boy from the town over, with his dark eyes and hair that had a slight curl to it, she couldn't help but to blush even at the thought of him. The sounds of laughter that followed them, while Phoebe eagerly tried to catch up with her two older sisters. As they reach the worn-down farmhouse, they stop to greet their beloved baby brother who was chopping wood with a rusty axe.

"Emmett!" Phoebe yelled as she ran towards her much taller twin brother, "Will you help me?", she pouted, "My arms are so tried". Emmett let out a chuckled as he took the buckets from Phoebe's hands. A smile quickly appeared on her freckled lips as she began to spin away in her rose-pink dress and dark brown worn out boots, clearly passed down through each girl, she quickly turned around with a puzzled look on her face. "Where is Alyssa?". All the sisters exchanged looks of confusion, while Emmett set the buckets downs, preparing to go into the field to find his misplaced sister.

"I'm coming! I'm coming!" comes a freckled face skipping down the path, until she meets her siblings. As her green eyes meet her sisters, she notices Diana is staring at her once perfect patchwork skirt now full of mud and rips all over. "Sorry" Alyssa mumbled, as she tries to hide the stains on her skirt, "I found blueberries and I couldn't help myself", she paused, "Can you fix it?". After a moment of silence, Diana takes a good look at Alyssa's skirt then snickers
