"An outer sect elder has such authority?"

Even Fu Zhu's expression grew solemn.

Yu Qingwei patted him lightly on the shoulder. "You stay here and finish your punishment properly. I'll go to Elder Feng Huai later to apologize. After all, this situation arose because of me. For now, I'll head over to the outer sect disciples' quarters to have a look."

Fu Zhu frowned in displeasure. "You're going to see that Xie Wuhán again, aren't you?"

Yet he couldn't stop Yu Qingwei. He could only watch helplessly as Qingwei, with a grave expression, flew off on his sword. Frustrated, Fu Zhu slammed his hand on the ground.

Heartless. Though it was true he had dragged Yu Qingwei into this mess himself... at least when it came to their master, he had shouldered all the blame. Now, seeing how much Qingwei cared about a mere outer sect junior, Fu Zhu felt a twinge of bitterness.

He pouted. It was all their master's fault for piling on more punishment. Otherwise, even if he had to endure a few lashes, he would've been free to eat, drink, and play by now—already coaxing Qingwei down the mountain to relax and enjoy themselves.

...

Outer Peak

A figure clad in moon-white robes descended gracefully on his sword. The envious gazes of outer sect disciples, many of whom couldn't yet fly on magical artifacts, turned toward him instantly. Yu Qingwei frowned slightly to himself, realizing he'd forgotten to choose a secluded landing spot.

As he stepped toward the disciples' quarters, a few disciples cautiously approached and asked, "Senior Brother... are you here looking for someone again?"

Swallowing nervously, one of them recalled the incident from the previous day that had spread like wildfire across the outer peak. Initially, they had thought this senior brother had come to punish Xie Wuhán, but in the end, it was the guiding disciple who had been beaten instead—leaving with a broken wrist.

The disciple's heart tensed with apprehension.

Xie Wuhán must have some impressive tricks up his sleeve, he thought. He managed to turn an inner sect disciple to his side so quickly, even leaving him with some spirit medicine.

He grew wary.

Yu Qingwei spoke. "Does the outer peak elder reside here? I have something to discuss with him."

The disciple let out a sigh of relief. "Follow me, Senior Brother."

Walking along a well-maintained path free of weeds, the disciple occasionally glanced back at the calm and composed youth behind him. Despite his low-key attire and extraordinary looks, he didn't seem to be a particularly powerful inner sect disciple.

In that case, there's no need to worry about offending him, the disciple thought.

He pointed to a residence about a hundred meters ahead. "There, that's it. I can't go any further. You'll have to proceed on your own."

Yu Qingwei gave a small nod. "Thank you."

Just as he was about to leave, he was stopped.

Surprised, he turned back, finding his sleeve caught by the disciple, who furrowed his brows and rubbed his fingers together in a subtle motion.

"What?" Yu Qingwei blinked in confusion.

The disciple raised his eyebrows and scolded, "Don't you know the rules?" He gestured at the storage pouch at Yu Qingwei's waist.

Still puzzled, Yu Qingwei hesitantly took out a bottle of ordinary pills and handed it over. Only then did the disciple snort with satisfaction. "Now that's more like it."
