Ms. Bustier stood at the front of the classroom, her ever-present smile lighting up the room. "Good morning, everyone! I hope you're all ready for something a little different today."

The students exchanged curious glances as she held up a neatly written handout. "For the next two weeks, we'll be working on a special project called 'Moments That Changed the World.' This is your chance to dive into history and explore how one pivotal event shaped the world we live in today."

She began handing out the assignment sheets while continuing to explain. "Each pair will select a historical moment—something that had a significant impact on society, science, culture, or politics. You'll research its causes, its immediate effects, and how it still influences us today."

Marinette glanced at Adrien from across the room, a small smile tugging at her lips. She loved history and creative projects like these, though she couldn't help but feel a flutter of nerves wondering who her partner would be.

"And," Ms. Bustier added, her tone growing more animated, "to make things fun and engaging, I want you to include a creative element in your presentation. This could be a dramatic reenactment, a model or timeline, a short documentary video, or even a news broadcast set in that time period! The more imaginative, the better!"

There was a murmur of excitement among the students. Alya nudged Marinette, already buzzing with ideas.

"You'll also need to submit a two-page summary of your research," Ms. Bustier continued. "This will ensure you've divided the work equally and fully understand your chosen event."

Chloé raised a hand, her voice dripping with annoyance. "But, Madame, how are we choosing partners? I refuse to work with someone who isn't up to my standards."

Ms. Bustier's smile remained calm. "I'm glad you brought that up, Chloé. To make this as fair and collaborative as possible, I've already chosen your partners." She picked up a small notebook.

Marinette froze, her pencil hovering over her notebook. This was it. The moment of truth.

Ms. Bustier began reading the pairings, working her way through the list until—"Adrien and Marinette, you'll be working together."

Marinette's heart skipped a beat. She felt Alya elbow her lightly, but she couldn't look away from Adrien, who turned toward her with a bright, friendly smile. "Looks like we're partners," he said.

Ms. Bustier continued. "Remember, this is a chance to get creative, work together, and learn from each other. I'll be checking in to see how you're progressing, so use your time wisely."

As the bell rang, signaling the end of class, Ms. Bustier added, "And don't forget! This project is due in two weeks, so start planning today. I can't wait to see what you come up with!"

Marinette's thoughts raced as she packed her things. Working with Adrien meant two weeks of working together—and the perfect opportunity to finally find the courage to tell him how she felt.

Marinette walked home from school, her bag slung over her shoulder and her mind racing. The project was exciting, sure, but the idea of working with Adrien for two whole weeks was enough to make her heart leap and her palms sweat.

She let out a small sigh, trying to steady herself. It's just a project, she told herself. You'll research, plan, and present—simple as that. Totally no big deal. Nope, not at all.

The late afternoon sun cast a golden glow over the Paris streets, and Marinette was so lost in her thoughts that she barely heard the footsteps behind her.
