Amelia gasped softly, her hands covering her mouth as she watched the scene unfold, unsure whether to intervene or chuckle at the sight of the composed and intimidating Edward being scolded like a child.

"That's why!" Sophia snapped, twisting Edward's ear even harder, making him wince. "That's why I was against you marrying her in the first place!"

Amelia's heart sank as she heard those words, her eyes dropping to the floor. She felt a pang of sadness until Sophia's next line caught her off guard.

"All you do is trouble her with your temper, you rascal!" Sophia scolded. "She's a little kid, and you took advantage of it! How dare you misbehave with your wife, huh?"

Amelia blinked, her sadness shifting to confusion.

Sophia wasn't done. "Did you ever see your father raise his voice to me, Edward?!"

Edward winced more, looking at his father for support, but Emmanuel, seated comfortably on the sofa, folded his arms and shook his head with exaggerated pride. "Never! I would never dare to do that!" Emmanuel declared dramatically, puffing out his chest.

Sophia glared at Edward. "See? Learn something from him!"

Edward groaned. "Dad, really? You're enjoying this?"

Emmanuel smirked. "Well, I don't get scolded for anything, son. Perks of being a good husband."

Amelia, watching the hilarious exchange, couldn't help but chuckle, her earlier upset feelings melting away. The sight of the ever-composed Edward being reduced to a squirming child under his mother's wrath, and his father slyly rubbing salt in the wound, was too funny to resist.

"Are you laughing, Amelia?" Edward asked, giving her a pointed look as he tried to pry his mother's hand off his ear.

She covered her mouth, trying to suppress her laughter as he glared at her. "N-No, not at all!" she said, but her shoulders shook with amusement.

Sophia gave Edward one last twist before letting go. "Hey don't glare at her! Or else I'll twist both of your ears!"

Edward rubbed his ear, sighing in defeat as Amelia giggled softly, her mood now much lighter. Amelia's chuckle faded as guilt crept into her heart. She looked at Edward rubbing his ears, noticing how red they had become. It must have hurt him.

Edward, always quick to pick up on her emotions, walked to her with concern. "What happened? Are you feeling unwell? Dizzy?" he asked, his voice softer than usual.

Amelia's gaze lingered on his ears. "It got red," she murmured, her guilt evident.

Edward gave her a faint smile, brushing off her worry. "It's nothing new. My sister learned the ear-twisting skill from my mother" he said, trying to lighten the mood.

Amelia glanced at his parents and quickly composed herself. She stepped forward to greet them.

Sophia folded her arms, still frowning. "He's just like that. But you should've called me, Amelia. I had to hear everything from Maria. If she hadn't told me, he would've continued his nonsense!"

Amelia's eyes widened. "No no, mother-in-law. He really takes good care of me" she said earnestly, hoping to defend Edward.

Sophia's stern expression softened as she reached out to stroke Amelia's cheek. "Call me mom dear. You're part of our family now."

The gentle gesture made Amelia's eyes sting with emotion. She nodded, her lips

She nodded, her lips trembling slightly as she tried to hold back the tears. The warmth in Sophia's voice and the affection in her touch made Amelia feel like she truly belonged, like she was no longer just Edward's wife, but part of this family.
