Author POV

At 4:03 AM, Amelia woke up with a sharp pain in her stomach. She glanced at the clock, then looked at Edward, who was still soundly asleep, holding her in a tight embrace. Carefully, she tried to remove his hand without waking him, intending to get out of bed. However, as she shifted, she lost her balance and fell back onto the bed, not making a sound. Edward remained asleep, unaware of her struggle.

"Ugh, it hurts too much again," Amelia thought, feeling the pain intensify.

She managed to stand up and left the room, deciding to change. As she walked, she wondered what she could do to ease the pain. "Maybe a walk will help," she mused, but the thought of moving too far from the bed only caused more discomfort.

By 6:01 AM, Edward awoke to find Amelia missing from his side. His heart skipped a beat as he looked around the room, but he soon spotted her in the other room, sitting on the couch with her arms wrapped around her stomach. She was sweating despite the air conditioning, and her face was twisted in pain. His concern deepened as he stepped out of the room to check on her.

Amelia, engrossed in her discomfort, didn't notice the video call coming in from Sister Samantha. She lowered the TV volume and answered the call, placing the phone in front of her.

"Hey, hi Amelia! Good morning!" Samantha greeted cheerfully.

"Good morning, Sister Samantha," Amelia replied with a small, awkward smile.

Samantha teased her lightly, "How’s the honeymoon going? I hope Edward’s not being too tough on you!"

Amelia chuckled nervously, but her smile faded as she felt the waves of pain in her stomach.

"Just kidding," Samantha added, sensing something was off. "Hey, you look pale. Are you okay?"

Amelia hesitated for a moment before answering, "Yeah, I’m okay. It’s just... I had my cycle."

Samantha's expression softened with understanding. "Oh."

Meanwhile, Edward was in the balcony, staring at the sky, trying to clear his mind. His phone rang—Samantha was calling him.

"Hello, sister," Edward answered.

"Now I got to know why you told me to talk with her" Samantha said

"Yeah, I think she’s feeling awkward, so I let you talk to her. Maybe she’ll feel better that way," Edward replied.

Samantha paused before speaking again. "She wouldn’t, Edward."

"What happened?" he asked, growing more concerned.

"She told me that she vomited this morning," Samantha explained.

"What?!" Edward was shocked. "But we ate the same thing. Was it that cake?"

Samantha sighed, her voice calm but firm. "Listen to me first. She vomited because she’s in too much pain. She thinks it’s normal pain and thinks that she can’t bear it because she’s weak. It’s not normal. She’s having painful cramps. She told me she often gets this much pain and vomits during these days." Edward’s heart sank as he realized how badly Amelia had been suffering without telling him.

Edward was driving the car with Amelia sitting beside him. She looked out of the window, her thoughts clouded with questions.

"Where are we going?" she wondered, but the question remained unspoken.

Edward, noticing her hesitation, smiled knowingly. "We’re going to the doctor," he answered, reading her mind.

"Mm? Why? Are you not feeling well?" Amelia asked, concerned.
