Jennie Kim POV
"Miss Kim!"
"Miss!"
"Miss, we have a few questions to ask."
"Ms. Kim!"
Camera flashes and loud voices echoed around me as I stepped out of our agency building.Reporters threw questions from every direction, left and right. I wasn't planning on paying them any attention, but they managed to push past my bodyguards and bombarded me with inquiries. I was so close to reaching my car!
I let out a sigh. It's about time I hire a new set of bodyguards. They couldn't even handle something as simple as keeping the paparazzi at bay.
"Ms. Kim is it true that you're dating?" one of them asked.
"Is it also true that you dating the CEO of Manoban Corporation?"
"Is it true that it's a girl?"
"What's going to happen to your contract now?"
"Are you not straight Ms. Kim?"
I sighed before flashing them my sweetest fake smile. This is what I'm good at-pretending. Ever since I entered this industry, I learned how to fake it. The world I live in is dangerous. You can't trust just anyone; you have to be sure and move carefully, or it could lead to the downfall of your career.
I have no idea where these paparazzi got their information. That's why I need to address this quickly. Rumors spread so fast.
"First and foremost, calm down. One question at a time. I can't entertain all of them at once. It's not true that I'm dating, so please stop spreading false information," I said, pausing briefly.
"For the second question, no, I'm not dating right? And I don't know that person. Please, if you do know her, don't bother her either."
"for the third question, as like what I said, I didn't know that person, so it's means I don't know either she or he." I look at the camera. "For the fourth question, nothing will happen to my contract. Stop spreading fake rumors. I love my job, and whoever is trying to ruin me won't succeed." I paused. "And lastly I'm straight". I added firmly, "So if you'll excuse me, I have to go. I have my next shoot to attend to."
With that, I immediately walked" I immediately headed straight to my car and got in.
Unlike my bodyguards, I rode in a separate vehicle. As soon as I got inside, I massaged my temples. My head and eyes ached from all the camera flashes. Although I'm used to it because of my job, my eyes don't always adjust quickly.
Sometimes, I wonder-what if I didn't choose this career? I'm sure my life would've been peaceful, and I wouldn't need to wear a disguise just to go to certain places.
I let out a deep sigh. I miss my peaceful life. But I don't regret entering the entertainment industry either.
"That's deep, Love."
I jumped in surprise when someone spoke. Quickly, I turned to look at the person while clutching my chest.
"You! Why do you always have to scare me?" I exclaimed. God, I almost had a heart attack.
She chuckled. Her voice was so deep that you wouldn't believe she was a woman-it was incredibly deep. Without realizing it, I bit my lip. Her voice sounded so pleasant to my ears.
"How would you notice me if you're so deep in thought? Stressed?" she asked, laughing afterward.
I rolled my eyes at her. "Nothing new," I replied, crossing my arms and leaning back in the seat.
An awkward silence fell between us. I didn't bother asking her anything because I was really stressed today.
I still had to make a call to clear up all those rumors; they were damaging to my reputation and could even affect my contract.
The silence was broken when she spoke.
"Why did you say you're not dating me? Why did you deny it?"
I looked at her. I didn't realize she had been staring at me this whole time. Her gaze was intense, as if she were looking straight into my soul-into the very core of me.
I quickly looked away. I couldn't hold her gaze; I felt like I was drowning in it. I felt hypnotized.
"It wouldn't make sense to tell the truth, right? That would ruin my reputation and my career. Besides, we're only date because of our parents and we'll broke up soon."
"You know I have a lot of incoming projects. It might affect them, and what will people say if they find out I'm dating a woman? That would be embarrassing!"
I saw her ball her fist. "I know you're only forced into this dating thing and you don't really want it. But you don't have to disrespect me like that!" she said in a low tone.
I froze. I had gone too far, but that wouldn't change my mind. It's the truth! What will people think if they find out I'm dating a woman? All of my hard work could be destroyed-I don't want that!
In the three months we've been together, I've started to understand her behavior. When she speaks in a low tone, it means she's angry and probably hurt. But I don't care!
If I have to remind her every time that I don't love her and that I don't want this relationship, I'll gladly do it.
"But it's true! Why did I even dating you? You're ruining my career! And now someone's spreading it in the media that we're dating. What am I going to say if they get hold of the evidence, specially that we're living in the same roof?"
"My career will go down! And I don't want that to happen. You knew from the very start that my career is more important than anything else. Not even you, nor my family!" I burst out. I had kept this inside for months.
Her fists clenched tighter, and I could see her gritting her teeth. She remained silent, staring off into the distance.
From the way she was acting, I could tell she was trying to calm herself. I knew I had gone too far, but I didn't care! Imagine being married to someone you don't love, and barely knowing them at all!
I didn't even know her name at first- and dad just want me to date her. Our so called date wasn't even that special!
The relationship I dreamed of was nothing like this. I imagined myself walking down the aisle in a beautiful wedding dress someday while the man I loved waited for me at the altar.
Not like this! This is unacceptable!. I'm dating a girl.
Even though I've been focused on work, I still dream of a peace relationship with a man. One that isn't forced, as long as the most important thing is that we love each other.
A moment later, she spoke. "Lucas, let's go." Commanding her personal driver. That was all she said, and the car started moving.
I stared out the window as we made our way home. When will this end? All I want is to prioritize my career before I settle down.
After a while, we finally arrived at our house. I was about to open the door when she stopped me by grabbing my wrist.
I was about to yell at her when she leaned in close to me. I gulped.
"Remember this, Jennie Ruby Jane Kim, We are not just dating, we're getting married soon and we will never, ever get a divorce! You will stay by my side because you are my future wife! And you are mine." She said firmly, then pressed her lips against mine.
