This is a oneshot, written specifically for joker_chaos_15, because they called me senpai and it made me feel really happy. Yes, I can be bribed by nice words. But only if you mean it ;)

You snuggle up to Loki on the couch, thoroughly enjoying your peaceful day together. Your grey tabby cat slept on top of the couch behind your heads, purring occassionally. You smile warmly at him before you return your attention to your book, Nightshade. It was a romance novel, one Loki teased you about for reading, but it was your favourite. Werewolf love, gotta love it.Loki was reading some Asgardian book you couldn't be bothered to even pronounce. He seemed infatuated by it though. You throw him a side glance, noticing a frown on his face.
"What's wrong?"
"This book is frustrating me." He growled, still focusing on the book.
"How so?"
"It's complicated magic. You wouldn't understand."
"Oh really? How about we go do something you don't understand?" That got his attention. He glared down at you.
"There is nothing in this realm that I do not understand."
"Ten bucks says you're wrong."
-----
"Loki, what gear are you in?"
"2nd?"
"Nope. This is 4th gear and we are in a carpark so I suggest you change down before you hit something."
"Shut up I'm trying"
He had been like this all day. It was incredibly annoying. He just didn't want to admit he had no idea what he was doing. He had not yet mastered driving and you promised to help him get some extra hours in between his driving lessons with SHIELD.
No wonder he had failed his learner's test three times.
Teaching Loki seemed nearly impossible. You thought he would be more willing to learn, after all of his lessons on Asgard.
Maybe it was your technique?
"Loki, stop the car."
"What did I do wrong?"
"Nothing wrong. Just thought I'd try something different."
"Different how?"
"How did you learn to ride a horse?" He gave you a surprised look.
"How is a horse relevant in this situation? This... machine is not a horse"
"But think of it as one. How did you learn to ride?" You smile encouragingly.
"My mother sat me on a horse, whipped its flank and let me go. I fell off after a few seconds." He smiled at the fond memory.
"And then?" You prompted. Getting him to drive a car until he crashed wouldn't really benefit either of you.
"She did it again. All day. Until I learnt that it was an animal with it's own will and strength, and I could never truly control it. And then she taught me how to cooperate with the horse so it would do what I wanted but in a way that it was comfortable. I could never force it to do anything. But it could force me to fall. So she taught me how to manipulate it, essentially..." he trailed off. "(Y/n), am I a bad person?" He looked at you seriously. His intensity scared you.
"Why would you think that? You've made up for what you've done. You're a wonderful person, Loki." You watch him as he looks down, as if he was going to break down in tears.
