"I hate YOU!" I screamed towards the woman who I didn't even see as my mother anymore.

"Don't be ridiculous, Meg." My "mother" tried to say in a calming way.

"Don't give me that! You know the person who killed dad! You did nothing about it, you saw how much I was devastated. YOU SAW IT!" I blurted out furiously, tears streaming down my face.

She was stunned. My mother, frozen in place as she processes the words coming out of her own daughters mouth.

She was stuck between going up to her daughter and giving her a hug, or accepting that her daughter will probably never see her the same again.

"And don't call me Meg. It's Megan to you." I added quietly. The tears still running down my face, refusing to look at my mother for even just a second.

"Sorry.. Megan." My mother responded quietly, walking away.

Out of the corner of my eye, I watched her leave. Tears still in my eyes as I fully realised what had just happened.

My own mother had BETRAYED me.

As she left, I collapsed to the floor, sobbing hard. Trying to be quiet, even though it was really difficult.

As I cried, I felt a huge mixture of emotions. Anger at my mother, disgust at her not telling me, and somewhat understanding.

-That Night-

I laid down on my bed, unlocking my phone for most likely the last time that night, and opening TikTok.

As I scrolled through the videos, I came across a funny video, liking it and giggling quietly to myself.

I'm glad I could find some kind of happiness today.

I scrolled endlessly until the deep darks of the early morning. I checked the time, quietly cursing as I saw it was almost 4AM.

I have school tomorrow.

I placed my phone down, before heading off into a sad but peaceful sleep.
