People say that love is a thing that comes and goes. Well, they're wrong.

Chapter 1; The First Day of School

----

(A/N: This story takes place in 2025, next school year when most of the characters know each other. Also, this part is in third person point of view.)

Natalie was dropped off at the Junior High. She grabbed her bag, threw it on one shoulder, and then made her way inside. She scanned the hallways, looking at all of the familiar faces. Some stood out to her, though. Probably because they were un-familiar, if that's the way you'd put it. She scanned over a few of the medium-height people, only then to find two of her closest friends, Alaina and Kylee. She started to speed-walk over to them in hopes to figure out how they have been and if they have any classes together.

"Hey," Natalie said as she stopped behind the two.

"Oh, hey!" Alaina exclaimed as she smiled.

"Whoa, buddy. Long time no see," Kylee raised her eyebrows.

"I guess. Only, what, a month since you last came to my house? And then four months since school, right?" Natalie asked.

"I'm pretty sure," Jacklynn said as she sat down besides Alaina.

"Well, hello to you, too," Alaina said as she put her arm around her.

"You guys, what's your schedule?" Natalie said as she grabbed Kylee's hand.

"Uhm, good question. Let me see real quick," Alaina said as she removed her arm from around Jacklynn's shoulder. "Alright, I have first hour science, second hour ELA,  third hour is obviously advisory until we get our W.I.N. or enrichment. Fourth hour is math, fifth hour is gym, then I have lunch. Sixth hour is advisory, seventh hour is world history. Eighth hour is writing, I think."

"Hm, who's your advisory teacher?" Jacklynn said as she leaned up and grabbed her schedule. "Mine is Mrs. Cantrell."

"Same," Alaina said.

Jacklynn then handed her schedule to Natalie. "You can compare."

"Yeah," Kylee handed hers to Natalie as well.

"Alright... we have math together again for first hour. We have fourth hour together... and seventh," said Natalie as she scanned the paper. "And Kylee, we have the same advisory and eighth hour."

"Cool, cool."

"Yay?"

----

A little later, Natalie and Jacklynn were walking to fourth hour, only to see two of the hockey team players. One played for Bay and the other played for the school. Braxton and Bronson. Two of the popular guys at my school. Braxton was tall, like your average BookTok masc. And Bronson was short, but not to short. His looks and personality made up for his lack of height.

Natalie sat down beside Jacklynn and whispered into her ear, "Isn't that Braxton? He looks a lot different than when he did last year..."

Jacklynn looked over. "Hm, yeah, that is him." Her gaze followed to who he was talking to. "And that's... Bronson?!" Her eyes widened.

"It is, yeah," Natalie scanned over the two. "They grew some inches, I guess, but Braxton is still taller."

"You're not wrong---"

Then the bell rang.

Braxton and Bronson walked over and sat down at the table beside them.

The teacher walked into the class and sat down. "Do the work on the bored, alright, kids?"

"Yes, Mr. Baginski --" The class answered.

"OR YOU GUYS can always ASK questions!" Mr. Baginski shouted with a smile.

"He's so loud, oh my gosh," Natalie giggled.

"Real."

"Alright, you guys! PAY ATTENTION!" Mr. Baginski yelled. "Who would like to pass out papers?"

Braxton and bronson raised their hands, along with two other girls who were most likely new students.

"Alright, (Braxton's last name) and (Bronson's last name), come up here and get the papers." Mr. Baginski said as he put them up front for them.

(A/N: I am not gonna say their last name for privacy reasons. Or anyone's last name for that matter.)

The two boys stood up and grabbed the papers, splitting it equally between them.

Bronson then whispered, "Isn't that Jacklynn and Natalie?"

Braxton confirmed, "Yeah, dude. Who else would it be?"

"I don't know," Bronson rolled his eyes as he walked over.

"Here," Braxton gave one of the few papers to Natalie, their hands grazing each-others.

Bronson put the paper in front of Jacklynn, pushing at the top of her head as he walked away. "Dumb-asses." He whispered. (And yes, this did really happen except in two different times so I just combined it together.)

"He just touched my hand..." Natalie blushed as she whispered.

"He smacked my head," Jacklynn laughed as she grabbed Natalie's hand. "And he grabbed your hand like this?"

Natalie flicked Jacklynn's head. "And did he hit you like that?"

"No, he didn't."

"Alright, buck-o."
