Maeve's POV

Past London's Royal gates, in the noblest areas of wealth, was the Great Foster Secondary school.
The schools main building is perfectly decorated with the deep red of facing bricks, trailing towards the high-end pearly white arch way, leading to the halls of heaven and the schools notorious stadium.

Navy uniforms scattered the bleachers of the stadiums inside, cheering on the schools football team against an outside club. The deep crimson of Great Foster's team swiftly moved around the pitch as every expert play enlightens cheers from the pitches' sidelines, the cheerleaders skirts swaying with the movement of their hips as they chant for their team, in an organised smoothly-running line formation.

In the direct centre of the team, leading the cheer was Rayana Bloom, the headmasters daughter. Rayana skillfully leads the team to the beat of their chants, her luscious brunnette pigtails bouncing in their crimson bows, moving with her body in an angelic form.

To the right of her was... well...

me.

Maeve Willis, a blonde copy and not as perfect, gorgeous, stunning cheerleader.

Right? Right.

No, I'm not a daughter of the headmaster or some petty rich guy, I'm the child of a single mum who worked her ass off to save up and send me here whilst my deadbeat dad drank his way to death, and he's still going, believe me.

My body isn't as nice as Rayana's, with a slight chub on my stomach and fatter thighs. And with ratty short blonde hair in a singular ponytail, my bow pratically falling out as I try keep up with the radiant Rayana.

Fucking Rayana.

After what feels like half my life wasting away, the whistle is blown as I perfectly execute well... sort of perfectly, execute the final winning cheer.
My deep brown eyes glance around as I lock eyes with a cheerful Rayana, who instantly turns towards the rest of the team.

"You've all done so amazing. We're definitely the best-'

I sigh, looking away as I zone out, not wanting to listen to her ramble off as I walk off back into the changing room, not bothering to congratulate the football team as I hurriedly flee.

My isolated footsteps reach my cheer locker as I take my bag out of it, stepping into a shower stall with a sigh.

Like hell, I'd let any of them see me undress.

I slip off my uniform without no care of it being wrinkled, shoving the skirt and skimpy top into the zip-up bag as I exchange them for my school uniform.
My gaze lingers on the old and fresh marks on my upper thighs, now uncovered by my mini cheer shorts as my hands graze the fresh markings before retracting my hand.

What was wrong with me?

I carry on getting dressed, buttoning my white shirt back up, covering my small beige bra as I slip on the navy pleated skirt whilst I attempt to pull up my tights, which were a pain in the ass.
As I finally get dressed, I let my scuffy blonde hair fall just past my shoulders as I slip my Doc Martin's on, throwing my trainers in my PE bag.

As I finally get back into my school uniform, lazily slipping my blazer on, my hand reaches for the shower stalls handle before I overheard the cheerleaders entering the changing rooms, presumingly after socialising with the cheer team.

"Oh my god, did you see Maeve? She's so embarrassing. Why does Rayana let her even stay in the team?"

I pause at opening the shower stall as instantly frown, my mind connecting as it matches the voice to the person, Elizabeth.
