Topanga and Angela leaned against their lockers, chatting about the upcoming school dance. Angela's eyes lit up as she talked about a dress she had been eyeing, but her voice trailed off when Lily Dawson appeared at the far end of the hallway. Lily's sharp heels clicked against the floor, her head held high as always, exuding confidence-or arrogance, depending on who you asked.Angela stiffened as Lily approached. The tension between them had been simmering for weeks, and it seemed today was the day the pot would boil over.
"Hey, Topanga," Lily said casually, ignoring Angela completely as she adjusted her pristine blouse.
"Lily," Topanga replied cautiously, sensing the storm brewing.
Angela didn't hold back. "So, are you just going to walk past and pretend you don't see me?"
Lily slowly turned to face Angela, her expression unreadable. "Oh, I saw you. I just didn't think there was anything worth acknowledging."
Topanga winced. "Guys, come on. Do we really need this right now?"
Angela ignored her, stepping forward. "You've had it out for me ever since Shawn and I started dating. What's your problem, Lily?"
"My problem?" Lily shot back, her voice dripping with venom. "You're my problem. You swoop in, play the perfect girlfriend, and suddenly Shawn's just... yours? Sorry, but I don't trust you."
Angela's eyes widened in disbelief. "You don't trust me? You're one to talk! Half the school doesn't trust you, Lily! Always playing the victim, acting like you're better than everyone else."
Lily says bluntly "maybe because I am?"
Topanga stepped between them, raising her hands. "Guys, stop! This is getting out of hand."
Lily's eyes narrowed, ignoring Topanga's attempt to mediate. "Better than everyone else? Please. I'm just not interested in being fake like you."
Angela crossed her arms, her voice steady but firm. "You're jealous. That's what this is about, isn't it? You can't stand that Shawn moved on, that he doesn't want you."
That struck a nerve. Lily's carefully constructed façade cracked, and her voice trembled with anger. "First I have a boyfriend and second You don't know anything about me or what I've been through. You think just because you're dating Shawn, you know everything? You don't."
Angela tilted her head, her gaze softening slightly. "Then why don't you just tell him how you feel, Lily? Maybe then we wouldn't have to do this."
Lily scoffed, her jaw tightening. "There's nothing to tell." She turned on her heel, her hair whipping around as she stormed off.
Topanga sighed heavily, rubbing her temples. "This has to stop. Both of you."
Angela leaned against the lockers, crossing her arms. "She'll never admit it, but she's still in love with him. And she's taking it out on me."
"And maybe," Topanga said carefully, "you should talk to Shawn about it. Because if you don't, this is just going to get worse."
Angela hesitated, then nodded slowly. "Maybe you're right."
But deep down, both of them knew this battle was far from over.
