I woke up feeling pain all over my body, I looked around and I was in an unfamiliar place, although the watch I was wearing was showing it was around early noon, the forest was very dark. I used my hands to navigate through the forest. My legs were broken but I tried my best to look for an exit.
As I walked for a long time, it seemed like I was walking in circles, that's when I realized that I was lost, tears streamed down my face as I tried to find my way in the dark forest. I was tired but kept pushing forward hoping to find a way out.
The place slowly became bright, I looked up thinking it was daytime but was surprised to find that the moon was up. I was happy that at least there was light. As I walked I remember the stories that were told about this forest.
Some said there were monstrous-looking animals in here that feed on humans, and according to police and new reports, the adventurers, researchers, and others who went into the forest none of them came back except one man who died two days after his return. The news said that his body was full of scratch marks and his left arm was bitten off, they asked him some things but he wasn't able to answer. He looked terrified and was traumatized by whatever he saw in the forest, and two days later, he was reported dead.
Fear gripped me as I walked, but I tried to stay at least positive. As I walked, I heard the sound of water flowing and the sounds of cricket, so I ran towards the sound. As I shifted the grass aside, I saw a beautiful site. It was a waterfall, and its river had some colorful stones on its bank, and the trees around it had different fruits. I smiled as I ran toward it and jumped happily into the water.
When I got out of the water, I picked out some wild fruits and ate them by the river. Looking at the reflection of the moon in the water, I thought that instead of moving around in the scary forest, it was better to stay here even though I didn't know how I'd leave the forest. I decided to use the knowledge I learned from summer camp when I was little, I gathered some small branches around and some dried leaves with fruits.
With the help of the knowledge of how to start a fire with sticks and stones, I struggled for some time but was able to light the fire. I lay next to it, and as I was very tired, I fell asleep immediately.
Suddenly, I woke up to the sound of a movement in the forest. The fire was out, and the place was dark, that's when I realized something was off about this place, it was dark in the daytime and bright at night time, I tried to look around, but as I turned toward the bushes, I saw a pair of eyes watching me.
I felt Goosebumps around my arms so I stood up and walked toward the water in fear. Those pair of eyes suddenly shifted and before I could blink they were gone. I collapsed on the ground in fear.
What was that? For all I know that could be anything, it could be just a squirrel, a wild animal, or the monstrous-looking creature that the media was talking about.
I looked at my watch but realized it was broken, I sighed and wrapped my arms around my body. I couldn't go back to sleep as I was afraid that whatever that was could come back and kill me if I let my guard down. Although I tried to stay awake, after a while, I slept off.
When I woke up, it was still dark, but the winter's icy grip was tightening. A thought came to my mind as I sat up. I decided that, I should probably find a way out instead of just sitting here. I patiently waited for the moonrise to illuminate the dark forest.
When it was nighttime, the forest was brightened up with the moonlight, I removed my already torn shirt and packed some fruit in it. I wrapped them up and began to walk into the forest searching for a way out which was a big mistake of mine.
As I walked deep, I felt like something or someone was watching me, and the sensation of being watched by the unknown made me anxious. Regretting my decision, I tiptoed through the forest.
Suddenly, a sudden snap of a twig caught my attention. Panic spread through me, and I was now sure that something was following me. Without thinking, I began to run. I ran without stopping till I tripped over a branch and fell on my face.
I noticed that the oppressive feeling of being watched had dissipated, allowing me to relax beneath a tree. Taking out a piece of fruit, I nibbled on it, hoping to replenish my energy for the road ahead.
Looking up at the moon, I wished for a savior. I was tired and weak, but the determination to find an exit kept me going. But as I stood up, I saw it again. Those pair of eyes came out from the shadow, and there were more of them.
It was a wolf, its appearance was otherworldly unlike any I've encountered in my life. They were enormous and scary. Urged by instinct, I sprinted away, the wolf's relentless pursuit hot on my heels.
Tears streamed down my face, which blurred my vision as I ran, driven by a desperate hope for escape, but all was in vain as I reached an area with fewer tall trees. It seems to be more like a grass field.
I looked around me, realizing I was trapped. The wolf's teeth glittered in the dim light as they advanced, their growls echoing through the forest. Suddenly, there was a deep, authoritative growl, more potent than any the wolves had uttered, filled the air.
The wolves, sensing a superior presence, cowered and retreated. I watched as the wolves, their tails tucked between their legs, disappeared into the dense foliage.
Turning my attention to the cliff, I was met with a site that both fascinated and terrified me. What I saw there would forever be etched in my memory.
