Sofia The First: A new journey

THE DISCOVERY

Amber's POV

I woke up rather late today only because i knew that if i didn't sleep now, i would fall asleep at the stake out. I pretty much did nothing, my excuse being that i was 'saving my energy', and it worked, so i was just idle all day
Then the sun started to set, so i went to school of science and Alchemy to meet up with Axel. When i got there, i was greeted by Dr. Kinbott, the principal of the school she told me to meet Axel in the hall he was already there
Amber: ...why is there a tent here, and what are you doing with-is that a mouse trap,oh my days
Axel: Nice to meet you too* sarcastically with an eye roll*and I'm setting a trap for the thief or thieves as the case may be
Amber: Okay, good work,i would love to help and all, but
Axel:No need. i got this
Amber: Hmm, and they say Chivalry is dead
Axel smirks, and I was literally dying inside. Oh my gosh, do i have a crush on my sisters boyfriend's brother
Axel: okay lets get into the tent and wait. I hope you got enough sleep. This might take a while
I nod, and we get into the tent that is hidden behind a few barrels
Amber: So now we wait
Axel: mhmm

Two hours later

Amber and Axel had been waiting for someone to show up, but no one did, and they were starting to lose hope, but just then, they heard footsteps,subtle, but they were
Amber: Do you hear that
Axel: Yes, now be quiet
The steps got louder and louder then they saw a figure but it was strange the thief had a figure of a kid but was covered from head to toe in black and was in a hood a black one so they could not see his or her face. Then just as they hoped he stepped on the rope that activated their trap,causing a ball to roll into a cup then the wait of the cup made  yet another ball to set of the mousetraps ,that was quite painful then a net fell on him or her and Amber and Axel watched with glee then they took action
Amber:Caught you know
Axel: Show yourself now
...?:*laughs sinisterly*(i swear it's a word)so naive of you to think you can catch me
Then, a yellow light started glowing. Amber, from instinct, grabbed him on his neck, trying to stop him from escaping, but then he faded away, but Amber still had something to lead on
Axel: Dang it, he got away again
Amber: Yeah, but he left something behind. * shows him a necklace*
Axel: woah, what is that?
Amber: beats me, but i do know that whoever the thief is, the person is associated with magic, and that is never good
Axel:What do we know,the thief's gone
Amber: hmm.....i know we who to go to,first we'll inform Dr kinbott and Count Mccarthy about it then we meet a sorcerer who can help us
Axel: And who might that be
Amber: Cedric
Axel: Wow..........you are on fire today.......being student council leader has changed you
Amber : i hope in a good way, for your sake

So they informed Dr. kinbott about the situation, and she passed the message to Count Mccarthy. He then approved of their plan, and they were off to Enchancia.

At Enchancia

The coach landed, and Amber and Axel immediately jump out of the coach as a result of the rush of adrenaline in their veins, this was like a mystery to solve, and they were the detectives on the case it was quite thrilling for them.they went into the palace and rush through the back even bumping into some servants, then just as they were about to climb the stairs they heard a voice
Sofia: Where are you two going in a hurry
Amber: oh sofia what are you doing here? i thought you were in Alberquque with hugo
Axel: Yeah, he wanted to talk with you
Sofia: Yeah, we already have, but that's not the point. Where are you going
Amber: it's urgent. we can't talk. See you later
Then they climbed up the stairs and knocked on the door, then it opened slowly, and then they saw cedric
Cedric: Who is it, oh princess Amber and Prince Axel
Amber: No time to chat. we need your help
Cedric: To what do i owe this pleasure
Axel: we need you to tell us what this is. * shows him the necklace *
Cedric: woah, where did you find this? * grabs it and examines it *
Axel: Long story, but what is it
Cedric:*starts mumbling* No..i..is it true i didn't even know it existed...
Amber: You didn't know what existed

She got no response, but Cedric kept pacing, then he opened his spell book and started flipping the pages and mumbling things like " it can't be" and " that is impossible,".It was getting quite annoying, then he stopped and spoke
Cedric: This is an object of great power that does not belong in the hands of children as yourselves
Axel: ok, yeah, but what does it do
Cedric: It is a rare form of sapphire that was forged years ago by a miner he mixed some melted gems together to form it, but he died
Amber: What killed him
Cedric: legend has it that he meddled with dark magic that was bestowed on him by the high priestesses of the old religion and that negative energy was sucked into this amulet and whoever wields it has the power to transform into a phoenix,it was called the eye of the phoenix, but the power corrupted the miner and it cost him his life
Axel: Wait, if that was years ago, how did it get into the hands of the thief
Cedric:it was locked away in the country the miner found before he died, and when he died, the civilization crumbled along with his death
Amber: What's the name of the country it was kept
Cedric: Hmmm.....Marina or something.....i don't recall
Amber: Marinara
Cedric: Indeed, how did you know
Amber: it seems we have overstayed our welcome. we must be on our way
Axel: we have?
Amber: Let's go
Cedric: Wait the necklace
Axel: Keep it it's safer with you
As soon as Amber and Axel were out of earshot, Amber pulled him aside
Amber: i think i know who the thief is
Axel: You....you do, because I didn't get a single thing he was saying
Amber: Oh, me neither, but he said Marinara and james mentioned a kid in his class named asher Marinara yesterday, too
Axel: So you think aher is the thief
Amber: Exactly, and he doesn't have the necklace anymore, so he is harmless
Axel: teah... but we did see him vanish into thin air, so he must some magic of his own
Amber: You're right, but we'll figure something out. For now, let's update. Count Mccarthy he must be growing grey hair from the stress

They laughed and agreed to meet later,for the mystery had started to unfold, and they just couldn't wait.
