***PS*** Doing this probably from the POV from the main character and Jack, I'll try to establish a pattern so it doesn't get too out of hand.       I sang out the words to 'Do I Wanna Know?' by Arctic Monkeys taking every notes like a breathe of air next to him... Calm cool, easy, ending the low notes a little more breathless than usual. I finished the last few lyrics slowly dragging them out bringing the show to a close for the remaining few night crowd in the bar I played every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights but today was the typical Wednesday. I packed up my guitar, said good night to the crew and bar tenders and waited outside leaned up against my car for my friend who was a waitress in the bar, Cara. As she walked out of the bar, purse in hand, I felt my phone buzz against my back pocket. I slipped my fingers in my pocket as I walked around my SUV to throw my guitar case in the back along with my purse. I unlocked my phone without even a glance and opened whatever message had come through. I glanced down at my large screen for a quick second to see who it could possibly be at 3 am. The contact read 'Gilinsky Fuck' with a bunch of heart emojis on each end. I sighed as I hoisted my guitar case in the back.

Cara came around my right side and put her purse next to my guitar case, "Who's that?" She gestured towards my phone. I backed up to close the hatch to my SUV and began to walk towards the driver's side door., I decided to not answer her until we were in the car because I was trying to focus on texting him back, answering her and get into my SUV before I froze to death... Too many things all at once going on after a night full of singing and playing my guitar in a musky bar. I climbed into the driver's seat and started the engine before the door was even closed.

     I sighed, "That dude, Jack."

Cara made an 'Ooh" sound as if we were 7 again. "You going to see him tonight?"

I shrugged and began to read his message.

     3:12AM Gilinsky Fuck:

"Where u at? I'm at ur house."

I pounded the screen with my thumbs as if the whole world depended on it.

     3:15AM Me:

"You're where?!? I just got off work. The fuck are you doing at my door at 3AM?!?!??" I began to exit the parking lot a little quicker than I usually would. I ignored the six messages that I received while I got about 90% of the way to Cara's apartment, then just as I was pulling on her street, my phone has a buzz attack, signaling to me that I was receiving a call. I tried to sound not so annoyed because I actually wanted to see him... But I could never admit that. Not even to Cara and she's my best friend. She could see the stress and anxiety on my face as I answered the phone she just stared at me all concerned, I sighed and said, "Hey, Gilinsky."

Jack laughed a little, "When are you coming home? Where's your 'under-the-mat-key?" he paused for a minute, I could hear his amazing smile resonating in his voice, "I want to surprise you."

I waited for Cara to exit the car, she walked for her building quickly and got in safely, then I said, "In the planter next to the door. I should be home in like five minutes."

Jack wrestled with the plant for a few seconds before locating the fake rock that I hid my spare key in, he finally answered, "Alright. When's your boyfriend due back?" He asked as if he was already planning his escape plan.

I tried not to speed too much but it was hard to see him often so I always tried to make it quick from point A to point B. I thought about the flight information for my 'oh-so-loving' boyfriend while I stopped at a red light, "I don't remember but we'll just have to be careful."
