Everything was black. But my body was in pain. There was no Rain, no Melody, no Tempest. Just blackness and a searing pain all over my body. Was I dead? I couldn't move my body. All I could hear was my heart beat the the faint sound of someone saying. "It's all your fault." What did I do? What happened?

Hours must of went by before I started to feel more alert. I was still in pain, but everything wasn't silent, I could hear myself breathing. I groaned and waited for myself to be able to move and open my eyes.

Mother stood at the door, then she swung her bottle at my head while she screamed. "It's all your fault!" I sat up and opened up my eyes with a gasp only for me to grown and hold my head and feel sick to my stomach, looked around me to see shattered glass on the ground. I grunted feeling bile in my mouth and I quickly got up and stumbled over to the bathroom and tossed the last thing I ate into the toilet. I groaned and slip to the floor beside the toilet. That was the first time she had physically harmed me. I waited till I felt a bit stronger before I got up to look in the mirror. I grimaced. I had a bump on the side of my head, and a lot of dried blood on my face. I looked at my stomach to see a nasty bruise there too.

I checked for any more wounds on me and found none, even my head was healed, I just had the giant goose egg on my head. I grimaced and stripped off my now blood stained pajamas and made sure I would toss them into the fire place once I cleaned everything up. Which also involved bleaching the once white carpet that is now stained with my blood. Which is a frightening sight. I showered making sure to be careful of my head when I washed and brushed it.

I looked at the time on the wall clock and grimaced. It was already almost 7. Tempest and Mel would have already started to head home by now if I was there. I sighed and pulled on my sweatpants and sweatshirt that was already stained and I went to the hall closet grabbed all that I needed and I started to clean the rug. I managed to pick up all the glass that I could see an hour later and I then vacuumed to make sure I got every shard. I did not want anything stabbing me. I was about to start cleaning the blood off the rug when the door slammed oped. I shrieked thinking it was mother coming back to hurt me again, but to my surprise Tempest and Melody stood there looking extremely worried. Their eyes landed on the rug in front of me and horror filled heir eyes. I stood up but pail shot through me from my stomach and I grimaced.

Melody cried. "Pearl, what happened?! Are you hurt?! We got worried and scared when you didn't arrive so we went looking for you. We didn't find this place till now. We saw your shoes in front of the back door so we knew you were here." I stood up and grabbed the bleach and the rest of the cleaning supplies and started scrubbing the rug before I answered. "I had an-" I searched for the right word for it, but eventually settled on one word. "Accident last night. Nothing major." Tempest raised an eyebrow not buying it. I sighed and went back to cleaning. Melody hopped onto my bed and gasped. I looked up at her sharply and she held up a bloody glass shard. Tears filled her eyes and she asked. "Are you really ok Pearl?" I quickly grabbed the glass shard and tossed it in the garbage with the rest of the glass. Tempest looked in the garbage can then she turned to me and said in a demanding tone. "What happened." I flinched and said. "My mother hit me with her glass bottle and kicked me in the stomach." Melody was crying now and she ran to me and hugged me. She sobbed. "Why would your mother hurt you? Mothers are not supposed to do that?"

She looked so confused and hurt. Why was she hurt?" So I asked her, trying to avoid her question. "Why are you hurt?" Her bottom lip trembled and said. "Because it hurts me when my family is hurt." I held her tightly to me and said. "I'm ok. I'm alive and just fine. All I have are two bruises." I looked at Tempest and saw that she was tearing up. Suddenly she said as tears rolled down her cheeks. "I knew something was going to happen! I knew it! I just had this bad feeling! I should of not left!" I quickly pulled her into a hug and said. "I'm ok Tempest. It's not your fault. My mother has some problems. It's her fault. Not yours." It's also mine for not locking the door but I kept that silent. Once she had calmed down enough I pulled back and finished up the cleaning process and I put everything away and I washed my hands. Tempest said. "Pearl, pack your things. Your coming back with us." There was no disagreeing with her. I could see that now. I glanced at Melody and saw she was half asleep on my bed. I looked at the time and saw it was 10:00 pm. I sighed and said. "It's late." But Tempest held firm. So with a sigh I changed into something more acceptable and then put on my belt the held my pouch and dagger and I put on my crown. I grabbed my bag and Tempest picked Melody up bridal style and followed me down the stairs and into the living room.
