"Egghead! Come and catch me!" Sonic sped around Green Hills, spin dashing into all of Eggman's robots. The battle wasn't over, but several Mobians got into the way of the fight, one of the Mobians getting severely injured from the battle because one of Eggman's stupid egg robots shot into their leg. It hurt tremendously, and the Mobian needed someone to take them in to peacefully recuperate from the attack.
So, a certain black hedgehog took the place to take care of them, and introduced themself. "Uhm... Hey. I'm Shadow. Shadow the hedgehog." He tried to fake smile, until Rouge the bat walked in. "Shadow! You've got to figure out how to calm them down. Don't you see how sad they are?" Rouge looked into Shadow's eyes with puppy dog eyes, staring at him directly just to figure out something.
"Uh.. fine. Wanna hear a story?" Shadow sat down on the grass of Green hills, glancing at the Mobian. They nodded.
"If it will calm you down...." He whispered to himself. "...Alright.. here we go....Once upon a time..."
