The blonde woke up, fire stinging his lungs, he was losing oxygen because of the smoke around him, the heat burning his eyes and nose. He was surrounded by flames that grew larger he couldn't escape, the wood surrounding him was and burning like he would be soon if he didn't get out. Tommy took a deep breath as he inhaled smoke and jumped through the fire surrounding him on his bed.
It stung, and badly, he was already injured terribly, his arms were covered in burns. He spotted the balcony of the orphanage set ablaze like the rest of it. The young man took a deep breath again before coughing multiple times and jumped off the balcony outside of the burning building about to land when-

Tommy awoke with a gasp, his breath ragged and his heart pounding. Sweat dampened his brow as he sat bolt upright in bed, his eyes wide with terror. The acrid scent of smoke still lingered in his nostrils, and the crackling of flames echoed in his ears.

The nightmare was vivid, as if it had just happened. He saw the orphanage, a towering inferno, flames licking at the windows and smoke billowing into the sky. Children screamed in terror, their faces contorted with fear. He could feel the heat, the panic, the suffocating smoke.

A sob escaped his lips as he tried to calm his racing heart. It was just a dream, a terrible, haunting dream. But the fear was real, the pain was real. He had lost everything that night, his home, his friends, his guardians.
done.

Tommy shook his head and calmed down, he then got up off his bed and stretched with a worried face heading towards the shower. The coldness hit his skin as he was still trying to calm himself after that terrible nightmare.

Tom popped on his red white hoodie and baggy beige trousers while heading out.

The boy darted through the crowded marketplace, his nimble fingers slipping into a nobleman's pocket. "Ha!" he muttered to himself, a smug grin spreading across his face. He'd been doing this for as long as he could remember, ever since the fire. A street rat, a survivor, a thief. He'd learned to be quick, to be silent, to be invisible.

But today, luck was not on his side. As he slipped away, a familiar voice called out. "Hey, thief!"
He froze, his heart pounding. Turning, he saw the three heroes, the same ones he'd pickpocketed just yesterday

"Oh, great," he groaned. "Just what I needed."
Raven Wing, the stern and imposing leader, stepped forward.

"You again?" The night hero Raven winged asked

"Look, it's not what it seems," Tommy stammered. "I was just... borrowing."

"Borrowing?" Phantom, the youngest and most reckless, scoffed. "You call stealing 'borrowing'?"

"Whatever," Tommy muttered, rolling his eyes. "Just let me go."

"Not a chance," Blade, the eldest and most skilled, said. "You're coming with us."

"I'm good" Tommy said trying to leg it just to be stopped by phantom. His powers allow him to phase through anything while he's invisible, even people. Damn it.
The heroes led Tommy into the city where they entered a police station. The chief escorted the blonde to the internation room while the three and him were on the other side looking through the tinted glass.

Across from them, a young, weary-looking boy sat hunched over, his gaze fixed on the cold, concrete floor. Tommy, as he was known, was a mystery wrapped in enigma.

The police officer, his face etched with years of experience, entered the room. "Alright, let's cut to the chase," he began, his voice low and serious. "This kid, Tommy, he's got a tragic backstory. His orphanage, a place called the Puffy's Promise burned down a few years back. A horrific fire, took the lives of everyone inside. Except for him."

"I've heard of that, my friend unfortunately passed there, she was the owner and an old friend of mine" Raven Wing let out

The officer paused, letting the gravity of his words sink in. "He was the sole survivor, pulled from the wreckage, scarred and traumatized. No family, no friends, just a kid lost in a cruel world. He's been on the streets ever since, trying to survive, doing whatever it takes."

He sighed, shaking his head. "It's a sad tale, a real tragedy. The kid's been through hell and back. We're trying to figure out what to do with him, but it's a tough call. He's got potential, but he's also got a lot of anger and pain bottled up inside."

The three heroes exchanged a somber look. They understood the weight of Tommy's past, the darkness that had shaped him. They knew they had a difficult task ahead of them, but they were determined to help him, to give him a chance.
