A kid who was around 11 years old was running towards school. His clothes were unmanaged, like his shirt collar was up, and his shirt buttons did not match. His face was dirty near his mouth as if he did not clean his mouth properly. Also, his bag was half-open. With a smiley face, he was moving towards school. He was late.

The security guard looked at him, checked his ID card, and said, "Smith, you are late. Go there and stand there."

The guard pointed his finger at other students who were late. Smith did not look at the guard's face and went to the place where the guard pointed.

Smith raised both hands as a punishment and looked at the other students. Then Smith saw that one student was not raising his hands. Smith realized that the student who was not raising his hands had his parents there.

Smith said nothing. He looked at his teacher talking to that student's parents, who were laughing and talking. But he still watched the parents and teacher.

Suddenly, another student talked to him, "Hey, hey, the teacher is not looking here, you can put your hands down."

Smith looked at him carefully and saw that the student was well-dressed. But Smith did not say anything and looked elsewhere. Suddenly, his eyes landed on a dog feeding her puppies. He smiled.

He continued to look at the dog. He did not care about the assembly line. The assembly finished, and the students who were being punished also left the place and went to their classrooms. But Smith was still looking outside, where the dogs were playing with their mom. He did not care about the classroom.

Then suddenly, a teacher came in front of him, but he was still looking outside at the dog. The teacher got annoyed and said, "Smith, are you daydreaming? Where is your focus? Are you daydreaming? Come with me."

Then she grabbed Smith's hand and moved towards the class. She also saw Smith's unmanaged dress, but she said nothing. After some time, his view of the dog was gone. Then he looked at the class and ran towards his class, leaving the teacher behind.

The teacher felt annoyed again, but she did not say anything. Then the teacher also moved towards the class where Smith entered.

Smith entered the class and sat at his desk. Three students could easily sit at one desk, but Smith was sitting alone. He was boycotted by other students. Also, Smith was made fun of by other students. But Smith said nothing. He smiled and opened his book and notebook. His books were torn, and his notebook was dirty. He looked at the other students' books and notebooks, which were nice and clean. He said nothing, waiting for the teacher to come.
After a few minutes, the same teacher came. She looked at Smith, seeing that today again Smith was sitting alone.

Then she looked at the first bench. There were only two students there. She took a deep breath and said, "Smith, come here, sit on this bench."

But the student on the first bench said, "Miss, he cannot stay with me."

Another student also said the same. The teacher got confused and asked, "Why?"

The first bench student said, "Because my mom says to stay away from Smith."

Another student who was on the first bench looked at the teacher and nodded his head. But the teacher forcefully put Smith on the first bench.

She took a deep breath and started to teach. But the first bench student wrote something in his notebook and gave it to Smith. Smith looked at the notebook and saw something written in it. He read, "Leave this bench after this period, okay? I will give you some candy."

Smith looked at the student who wrote that in the notebook. Then he tried to write something, but that student grabbed his notebook and put it in front of himself. Smith looked at him and said nothing. He looked forward.

After some time, the first period finished. Then Smith said nothing and moved towards his bench.

Then the first bench student said, "Stop, Smith," and threw something. Smith looked at that side, but he was not ready to catch that thing, so it hit his eye. Everyone laughed at him. But Smith did nothing. He picked up the candy that hit his eye and went to his desk.

Time passed. The second period, third period, and fourth period happened. Then it was lunch break. Every student in the classroom went outside to the tiffin hall and canteen. Some brought lunch from home, and some ate in the canteen. Smith ate in the canteen. His parents paid for his food in the school fee. Every student left the class with excitement, but Smith went to the canteen slowly.

Then he entered the canteen and stood in front of a man. That man was a huge man and was a cook from the canteen. The canteen cook looked at the kid who was standing with him. He smiled, "Hey Smith, what's up? How are you doing?"

But Smith said nothing. He was just looking at the cook. Then the cook watched Smith's clothes and took a long breath. He said, "Your parents are very busy, right? You know you are a brave kid. Let me help you."

Then the cook fixed Smith's clothes and said, "So what will you have today?"
Smith said nothing. He pointed at the menu. The cook saw the menu and said,
"So you want a sandwich, right?"

Smith shook his head yes. The cook smiled and said, "Okay, sit over there. Your order will be here."

After that, Smith sat at his empty table. The cook went to one room and got the sandwich.

Suddenly, someone said to the cook, "Sir, why do you always take that kid's order? You know students have to get food themselves from the counter."

The cook looked at Smith and then at the person who asked the question. The cook said,
"He was the first kid who was never scared of me. He always smiled when I saw him, but now his smile is gone. Also, he forgot how to speak. Have you ever seen him talk?"
