Ayanna grabbed Mora and shoved her back hard. "Mora, run! Get outta here!" she yelled, her voice frantic.Jazmine's eyes were wide. "But what about you?"
"I said go! Just run!" Ayanna shouted, not looking back.
They took off, feet slamming against the ground, no time to think.
Makayla was pissed. "I've never met a black person this mothafuckin' dumb!" she snapped at Mora as they ran.
Mora was barely there. Her legs were moving, but she couldn't feel them.
Everything was a blur. She just ran.
They finally slowed down, gasping for air. Mora bent over, hands on her knees, her chest heaving. Jazmine was next to her, barely able to catch her breath.
Makayla turned, her face with anger. "Nigga, what the hell is wrong with you Mora? I told you not to go near that body! Ayanna told you! But no, you had to act stupid!"
Mora didn't say anything, still too shaken to speak.
"I swear, if you don't start listenin', we're all gonna end up dead!" Makayla spat, pacing back and forth. "You lucky Ayanna got us outta there."
Jazmine, still bent over, just nodded, too winded to add anything.
"Maybe if y'all told me why the hell we are here! And why is there almost nobody outside then, yeah I would've l-listened!" She yelled trying to catch her breath.
"Oh bitch please, we've already told you what we've known! We don't even know why da fuck we here ourselves!"
"I know yo ugly ass ain't call me no fuckin bitch."
"Oh yes the-"
"Enough!" Jazmine yelled still trying to cough her breath. "I'm tired of hearing yall fuckin arguing! Just shut the fuck up and wait for Ayanna."
"How the hell she gon know we here if we can't even signal her?" Mora asked.
"Yeah.. Damn you right.."
"Let's go back home we gotta tell the others." Makayla said.
"Tell the others what?" Mora asked.
"That Ayanna is probably in danger, because of you."
"We can't lose Ayanna right? I-I mean, shit. We've already lost Kyir and Imani." Jazmine added.
"Who and who?"
Makayla gave Jazmine a stare.
"Nobody."
"Nah, nah, who the hell is Kyir and Imani? And what the fuck you mean lost." She quoted with her fingers.
"Can I just tell her?" Jazmine looked at Makayla.
"Go ahead girl, you already outed yourself."
Jazmine rolled her eyes and began talking
