Love Hurts (Short Story)

Chapter 23

 Eva looked out the window and saw Alexs car drive up her driveway. He honked. Eva was wearing a pair of black skinny jeans, a red singlet top and red converse. She grabbed her black handbag and ran down the stairs.

"I'm going out." Eva called out to her parents and then ran out the door and down the driveway. She hopped in the passenger seat. She looked at Alex, who was smiling at her. She smiled back. Then they drove off heading towards the movies. Eventually they got to the movies. They went up to the counter to buy the tickets.

"Two tickets to Evil Dead please." Alex said.

"Sure. That will be 28$." The lady at the counter replied.

"Here Alex. I will pay for my own ticket." Eva said handing Alex her money. He pushed her hand back.

"I'm paying for you babe." He said.

"Are you sure? I don't mind paying for myself."

"Of course I'm sure. You are worth it." Alex winked at Eva, and then gave her a massive smile. He got his wallet out and paid the counter lady.

Eva sat down in a seat, around the back of the cinema. Alex say down in the seat next to her.

"Wow, these seats are really comfortable." Alex said.

Eva laughed a bit. "Yeah, but once you've been here so many times you get used to it."

"Okay, I'll have to come here more often then. Hopefully with you."

Evas mouth pulled up into a shy smile. The lights dimmed and the trailers before the movies started. Alex and Eva didn't say another word.

About half way through the movie, Alex stretched his arms up. As he was putting his arm down, he put on arm around the back of Evas shoulders. Eva smiled to herself. This was great.

Alex drove Eva home after the movie.

"Thanks Alex I had a great time."

"No problem. Thanks for coming. Did you like the movie?"

"Yeah it was better than I expected."

"That's good."

"Yeah."

"Well can I call you tomorrow?" Alex said

"Okay, talk to you then."

Eva was turning to get out of the car, but Alex grabbed her hand. She turned around and Alex leaned in and kissed her.
