Wiz: In the cold heart of the Pokémon world known as the Sinnoh region, there lived a young girl. Long blue locks and ocean-blue eyes covered her head, and at 10 years old, she was ready for a new adventure.

Boomstick: Meet Dawn Berlitz! The daughter of a famous Pokémon coordinator with the goal of following in her mom's footsteps in becoming Sinnoh's top coordinator.

Wiz: But, after getting her very first Pokémon from the professor, a Piplup, she would have a chance meeting with a Pikachu in search of a certain world-travelling trainer.

Boomstick: One thing led to a destroyed bike, yada-yada, Team Rocket's blasting off again! And it was then that she'd meet a boy who would become her best friend in the whole world: Ash Ketchum!

Wiz: Despite Dawn and Ash's rocky start, once the two made up their differences, they were inseparable.

Boomstick: They even got their own lil thing with their constant high fives! There's a song about it too, I recommend listening to it.

Wiz: And it was during these travels that Dawn would catch a fairly sizeable roster of mons to add to her team. Early on, she'd even trade one of them, Buizel, in for Ash's Aipom, because of Buizel's love for battling outweighing its love for coordination and vice versa, cementing the duo's unbreakable friendship.

Boomstick: Friendship, sure, anyway, she'd even make a few rivals along the way too! Nando, a bard who was both a coordinator and a league battler, Zoey, Dawn's totally not lesbian second best friend, Ursula, Dawn's number 1 hater, and even her old friend from early childhood, Kenny!

Wiz: Dawn's Pokémon weren't ones to be trifled with either. Along with her Piplup, she would catch a Buneary, Pachirisu, Mamoswine, Quilava, which she raised from an egg, and a Togekiss, which would be given to her by a princess lookalike of her!

Boomstick: But despite her crazy stacked team, she still had a problem. A little dude creeping up on her called overconfidence. Because of the expectations set by her mom's legacy, she had a confidence and cockiness in her abilities that would make even a nepo baby cringe! So when she'd get humbled in contests, she'd tumble hard. Excusing herself to go be sad alone.

Wiz: She didn't want her best friend and the people around her to see that she was weak, a crybaby after every loss. But little did she know though, that she was one hell of a powerhouse despite her losses.

Boomstick: Piplup was once able to create a whirlpool over 13 billion kilograms.

Wiz: Which, at a lowball, would be over 500 trillion joules of energy, rivaling that of our modern day nuclear bombs!

Boomstick: And that's not even mentioning Mamoswine, whose species can tussle with Pokémon who can level whole mountains!

Wiz: And that's not even going into Dawn's speed. Even the weakest Pokémon out there are able to dodge lightning, and even beams of light on occasion, and it's definitely safe to assume that no one in Dawn's team was weak.

Boomstick: But don't count her battle smarts out just yet! Dawn, being a coordinator, has to work with her Pokémon to make their moves look as stylish as humanly possible.

Wiz: So the synergy Dawn has with her team is nothing to scoff at either. Despite all of this though, the more she lost, the deeper she fell out of her confident persona. When Ash began to notice Dawn's behaviour, it was too late, his encouragement, which normally worked, didn't even make her budge. She was depressed.

Boomstick: Dang that's... pretty heavy for a kids cartoon, don't you think? This behaviour would persist for a while. That is until she met another coordinator going by May. Yes, the one from Ruby and Sapphire, yes, Ash's friend from Hoenn. She was a much more experienced coordinator than Dawn too.

Wiz: Which is why it would surprise pretty much everyone when Dawn made the ultimate upset in defeating her in the Wallace Cup. This was when Dawn finally gained the confidence she had back. But the arrogance she once had was gone, replaced by a real desire to improve upon any flaws she once had.

Boomstick: But she wasn't done yet, no sir-y! She still had lots of things to do! Not only did she need to win her last ribbon to enter the Grand Festival, her final obstacle in becoming Top Coordinator, but there was also some world-saving shenanigans that she and her friends had to go through.

Wiz: But eventually, the inevitable came. Dawn worked through the Grand Festival's bracket, clearing coordinator after coordinator, until finally, she was face to face with her, Zoey.

Boomstick: Their match can only be described as peak freaking fiction! Zoey and Dawn trade blows in the most elaborate and flashy ways possible throughout, wowing the crowd!

Wiz: And even though she lost, she took it with grace, a stark contrast to how she was starting out.

Boomstick: But obviously Pokémon's gotta do this thing where they gotta bench the girl to make room for the next cast members in order to advertise the next games, so Dawn had to stay in Sinnoh while Ash went back to Kanto.

Wiz: But no need to worry. Cause even when apart from him, between the cheerleading, Pokémon trading, and more, she knew that he was as her home, knew that they would always be cheering each other on to become the very best in their crafts, whether from the audience or the other side of the planet. And when that eventually happens, you can bet that it's all gonna end in a High Touch.
