"पहला पहला प्यार है
पहली पहली बार है
जान के भी अन्जाना
कैसा मेरा यार हैउसकी नज़र, पलकों की चिलमन से मुझे देखती
उसकी हया, अपनी ही चाहत का राज़ खोलती
छुप के करे जो वफ़ा, ऐसा मेरा यार है
पहला पहला प्यार है...

______________________________________________________________________________________Avni clutched her mother's arm, her eyes welling up with tears
"Mumma, Delhi janna jaruri hai?"
(Mom, do we have to go to Delhi?)
she asked, making a sad face.
Her mother, Ruchi, smiled reassuringly.
"Beta, itni bhi kya badi baat hai?"
(Child, what's the big deal?)
"Aisha bhi toh hogi vaha"
(Aisha will also be there).
Avni's face contorted in a mock-irritated expression.
"Haan haan, if that will make leaving Chandigarh better,"
she said, rolling her eyes.
Her mother chuckled.
"Avi beta, aise kyu kr rhi ho?"
(Why are you being like this?)
"Ab toh janna hi padega"
(Now we have to go).
"Aur vaise tumhare papa ka transfer hua hai"
(And your father's transfer has been finalized)
"Kuch nhi hota vaha bhi bahut Mazza hoga"
(Nothing will happen, you'll have a lot of fun there).
"Don't take tension," she added, smiling.
Avni's brother, Aryan, chimed in,
"Kaisa lag raha hai drama queen, excited??"
(How are you feeling, drama queen, excited??)
Avni made a crying face.
"Bhaiya mujhe nhi janna mujhe yaha hi rehna hai mein bahut Miss krungi chandigarh ko"
(Brother, I don't want to go; I want to stay here. I'll miss Chandigarh a lot).
Her father said,
"Avi beta, aise shakal mt bnao badmein pta hai na papa se dekha nhi jata, haan?"
(Don't make that face, you know Papa doesn't like it, okay?)
Aryan teased,
"Drama queen, Mazza aayega vaha pr zyada mt soch"
(Drama queen, you'll have fun there; don't overthink).
The family soon reached Amritsar, took a plane, and arrived in Delhi. Avni was setting up her new room when she stumbled upon a card from her childhood friend, Aditya, whom she hadn't seen in years. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes as she remembered the happy times they shared.
