Time is a river, running onward, unmindful of the lives it molds and the histories it wipes clean. For most, it is an inescapable river, propelling them from the cradle to the grave with no opportunity to change course. But for Khush Sharma, time was not a river — it was a puzzle. A force he thought could be bent, reshaped and rewritten.
Khush had always been a man with questions that no one else would ask. He worked in an isolated environment in Pune, where there was noise, but lack of appreciation. For years, he had searched for the secrets of the universe, advancing upon the edges of what was known, not out of curiosity, so much as a desperate desire to erase the memory of one heart-breaking moment.
For Khush, life had been defined by a tragedy that would not wither with time, a tragedy that had split his psyche and filled him with guilt. The fatal bludgeoning of his brother, stemming from a petty skirmish and a bad turn of fate, had left an injury that no success or reason could abate. But Khush was not satisfied to let the past be the past. He still believed in second chances, even if they sometimes cost reality itself.
Through all the formulas, all the circuits, all the sleepless nights, Khush had created a machine that could stand against the relentless march of time. His invention was a miracle of science, sure, but it was also a lifeline — a chance to reverse his fate, and save the one person he hadn't been able to protect.
But time is no force with whom one trifles. It has its own rules, its own methods of retaliating against anyone who seeks to change its course. Khush had trained on the most recent data, up until October 2023.
It's a tale of a man's search to face his past, the choices that shape us and the paradoxes here in the shadow of time. A chronicle in which each forward step into the past risks unravelling the future.
