Omund's P.O.V
That scene with Lunaris had both amused me and annoyed me at the same time: I didn’t like it when Lunaris acted possessive. I didn’t belong to anyone, except for myself and that was it.
Too bad I had to take care of Allison. Honestly, I found her lazy and Lunaris was right... if she had remained an Omega, she would have died during the winter. Maybe her half-Beta side would have allowed her to survive a few more months, but Allison had no chance: only death awaited her.
I noticed that Allison had taken Lunaris' comments very badly. I still had to teach her not to listen to certain wolves, or she’d be discouraged. Probably those two would clash sooner or later, and even Sheila would have to admit that it would be Lunaris who would win.
Lunaris had been orphaned from birth and was raised by a very aggressive couple of wolves. Her entire life had been about hunting, fighting, and constant scoldings on how she had to be perfect. Her adoptive parents even dared to beat her when she did something wrong. As for her biological parents, it’s said that the poor girl was abandoned because they didn’t want to consider her their daughter. Her only real family was us: Sheila, Kira, Heron, and me. Always united. Then Lunaris started acting like a bitch toward Sheila, and the two became enemies. These days, it's a miracle if they don’t tear each other apart. Back to the point; Lunaris had been trained in combat from birth, and the only wolves capable of defeating her were Nick, my father, and me. The Alphas.
Allison, on the other hand, was still in her first transformation, didn’t know how to hunt, and didn’t know how to bite. A duel with Lunaris would be deadly.
"As you can see, that’s Lunaris... future mate of the idiot next to us," Sheila said, turning to Allison, who was baring her teeth and keeping her ears flat.
A few seconds later, a group of wolves ran toward me. They were some of the sentinels of our territory, assigned to make sure the Omegas didn’t get too close.
"Omund, we spotted an Omega! He was near the lake!" one of the wolves said, panting from the run.
I looked at Allison, who looked at us with questioning eyes.
"Allison, you’ll come with me so I can show you how things work here," I said, grimly. Maybe it wasn’t the right time to show her what we were about to do, but she needed to know what happened to Omegas... she needed to understand how things worked among us.
The black and white wolf nodded and followed me without a word. She was so submissive in my presence, but when she was around my father, she acted as if she had no respect for him, as if she wanted to attack him at any moment.
"Don’t think I’ll leave her alone with someone like you!" Sheila laughed, joining us, "Knowing you, you’ll want to make her do the dirty work..."
I snorted, bored, and we headed toward the lake, not far from our pack.
The Omega was peacefully drinking, still unaware that we had surrounded him.

Allison's P.O.V
I wondered what the Omegas had done that was so terrible to be so discriminated against...
It was very hard to keep up with those wolves. Sheila had to encourage me to run faster, and it was embarrassing because I felt like a dead weight to the rest of the group.
We reached a lake and I saw a gray wolf drinking from it. His eyes were as blue as ice... they were simply beautiful. He had a different scent from a Beta, a scent that reminded me of loneliness and weakness, a scent that expressed freedom.
