The morning air was sharp, filled with the scent of pine and fresh earth as Cyrus followed Jonah toward the training grounds. The sun had fully risen now, casting its golden light over the pack's expansive territory, making the entire landscape seem to glow with promise. Despite the lingering unease that still tugged at his chest, Cyrus felt lighter with every step. Jonah's presence beside him was grounding, like an anchor in a storm.

They reached the clearing where the pack usually trained. It was a large, open space surrounded by trees, with various obstacles scattered around to challenge the warriors in their training. TJ was already there, pacing impatiently as he waited for them, his broad shoulders tense with anticipation.

"Finally!" TJ called out, grinning as he spotted them. "I was starting to think you two were going to skip out on me this morning."

Jonah chuckled, his hand still resting on the small of Cyrus's back as they approached. "Wouldn't dream of it," he said. "Though I think Cy here is just as eager to get started as you are."

Cyrus shot him a playful glare, though the butterflies in his stomach made it hard to stay irritated for long. "Yeah, sure. Just trying to mentally prepare myself for whatever insane challenge you've got planned today."

TJ snorted. "You have no idea, man." He glanced at Jonah, his grin widening. "Ready to go, Alpha?"

Jonah gave him a nod, his posture straightening in that effortless way that only he could pull off. "Ready as I'll ever be."

TJ clapped his hands together. "Alright then! Everyone's in for a little something different today." He gestured toward a series of hurdles and balance beams set up in the middle of the clearing. "We're going to work on agility and coordination today—lots of fast thinking and fast movement. There's no better way to train both your wolf and human sides than using them together."

Cyrus felt his stomach do a nervous flip. Agility and coordination were not his strong suit, and his wolf, Snow, had a tendency to want to take over whenever they were in a high-stakes situation. It was hard to control that energy, especially in a group setting.

"You got this, Cy," Jonah said softly, giving him a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder. "Just focus, and trust yourself."

Cyrus nodded, though doubt lingered in his mind. The pack was watching now, gathering to observe their training. Every one of them was there for a reason, and the pressure to perform was beginning to weigh on him.

"Alright," TJ continued, "let's start with a simple sprint to the first marker and back. Think of it like a race, but you need to keep your speed and your balance under control. We'll go one by one. Who wants to go first?"

Cyrus opened his mouth to volunteer, but Jonah spoke before he could. "Cy, go ahead. You're up."

A little taken aback, Cyrus shot Jonah a look. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah. You've got this," Jonah said with a confident smile. "Just trust yourself."

He gave him an encouraging pat on the back, and Cyrus, for all his uncertainty, found himself walking to the starting line. He could feel the eyes of the pack on him, and the flutter in his chest returned with a vengeance. But Jonah's words echoed in his mind: Trust yourself.

He closed his eyes for a brief moment, letting Snow stir inside him. His wolf was always there, always ready. It was just a matter of finding balance, of listening to his own instincts without letting the fear take over.

When he opened his eyes, TJ was already standing at the starting point. "You ready?" he asked, looking both serious and amused.

"Ready as I'll ever be," Cyrus muttered under his breath, trying to keep the nerves at bay.

"Alright. Go!" TJ shouted.

Without another moment's hesitation, Cyrus sprang forward, the sound of his feet hitting the earth steady and sure. The first stretch was easy enough, and as he reached the first marker, he heard the pack's voices cheer faintly behind him. That moment of support gave him the strength to power through the next set of hurdles.

But then it happened.

His foot caught on the last obstacle—a low balance beam—and he stumbled, the world tilting as he tried to regain his balance. For a split second, everything felt out of control. He felt Snow's frustration, but he pushed through it, forcing his mind to focus. The pack was watching. Jonah was watching.

With a burst of determination, he leapt forward, landing neatly on the other side of the beam and racing toward the finish line. His heart pounded in his chest, but it felt like a victory when his feet hit the ground again, and he crossed the line.

The clearing erupted into applause.

Cyrus exhaled a breath he hadn't realized he was holding and turned to see Jonah grinning at him. His heart swelled at the sight—Jonah's pride in him was unmistakable, and it made everything feel worth it.

"You did great!" Jonah called, his voice full of warmth and approval.

Cyrus couldn't help but smile back, a rush of pride filling him. "Not bad for a first try."

TJ slapped him on the back, chuckling. "You almost had me worried there, Cy. Thought we might have to call in a medic."

"Funny," Cyrus muttered, though his grin didn't fade.

Jonah stepped forward, his eyes gleaming with something more than just pride. "See? I told you you've got this."

Cyrus's chest swelled at Jonah's words, and for the first time, he felt like maybe he was exactly where he was supposed to be. Maybe the doubts weren't so overpowering after all. He had something to prove—not just to the pack, but to himself.

"Your turn, Alpha," TJ said, gesturing to Jonah. "Show us how it's done."

Jonah smirked and stretched his arms. "Watch and learn, boys."

As Jonah took his position, Cyrus lingered at the sidelines, feeling a sense of peace settle over him. There would be challenges, no doubt, but there was no one else he'd rather face them with than Jonah. The bond between them was stronger than any doubt, any fear.

Together, they could do anything.
