Prologue-
Ravencroft: It was always one more day, just one more. But before I realized, I was a young adault already…
Female Narrator: “Legends. Stories scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are remnants, byproducts, of a forgotten past.”
A tall and fantastical castle builds up out of black dust in a beige world, ash setting on the world as it rains black. Every window glows a bright yellow, and yet, at the top, three large pendulums hold five green gems that glow. It brightens and erases all in white. A simple man raises out the dust, made by it. Quickly, he is surrounded by creatures made of the same, but eyes that glow red. Two men form beside the first man, barely holding back the monsters.
Male Narrator: “Man, born from dust, was strong, wise, and resourceful, but he was born into an unforgiving world. An inevitable darkness — creatures of destruction — the creatures of Grimm - set their sights on man and all of his creations. These forces clashed, and it seemed the darkness was intent on returning man's brief existence to the void.”
Black sets in, then suddenly lessens as a light grows brighter and brighter until a gem rises from it and lowers itself into the hands of man. Men shooting lightning from their hands, two form between them raising swords, and two more aiming rifles at the retreating beasts as a castle appears behind them.
Male Narrator: “However, even the smallest spark of hope is enough to ignite change, and in time, man's passion, resourcefulness, and ingenuity led them to the tools that would help even the odds. This power was appropriately named "Dust". Nature's wrath in hand, man lit their way through the darkness, and in the shadow's absence came strength, civilization, and most importantly, life.”
The world grows vast into a map of Remnant, five continents and only four are with a name. On three of the continents, four bright lights shine on the images of castles and houses. Until they disappear in flashes of white and the map covered in darkness. A scattered moon in a starless night is over a futuristic Victorian English city.
Female Narrator: “But even the most brilliant lights eventually flicker and die. And when they are gone... darkness will return.”
Roman Torchwick, a man dressed in a fine red-lined suit with long black pants and shoes. Him and four of his henchmen head down an alley from the shadows. They stop behind Roman, who reignites his cigar without touching it, revealing his pale face and bright orange hair that is pushed down by a black bowler cap over his left green eye. He grins before walking down the road, frightening nearby citizens as they make their way towards the shop “From Dust Till Dawn”.
Female Narrator: “So you may prepare your guardians, build your monuments to a so-called "free world", but take heed... there will be no victory in strength.”
Inside the shop, a shadow cloaked and hooded man looks at a box of empty .50 magnums. In another part, a girl in a red riding hood has loud music playing while reading a magazine. Without warning, she suddenly turns into a blinding spiral of rose petals, flying out of the storefront and across the street. The shopkeeper jogs out the store, swinging his fist in the air.
He yells, “You no good thief!”
Ruby Rose turns to the man, the upper half of her face hidden under the hood, she tauns, “The Schnee’s already robbed me with those dust prices, there’s no way I’ll spend 20 Lien on a magazine!” She starts to run away, and the shopkeeper just heads back inside. As she is running, she bumps into a henchman and slowly backs away, watching as the posse travels out. The shop door jingles, unnoticed by the man still in the back holding up a fuel capsule and a box of bullets. Roman and his henchmen enter the shop. The henchmen look around and at the Dust crystals in the display when Roman approaches the elderly shopkeeper. Outside, Ruby slowly walks away, looking at the magazine in her hand, and then back at the store. Rolling it up, she starts to jog to the store.
