Christmas Eve🎄

Today was the day.
The day you had been both anticipating and dreading.

You'd spent weeks preparing, gathering the perfect gift for Daisuke, but now, as the time approached, the weight of the situation hit you.

The nerves, the excitement, the uncertainty—your mind was buzzing. You had been trying to push aside the confessions, the tension that lingered since that night, but now, with him about to be in your space, everything felt amplified.

You stood in front of the mirror, adjusting the red sweater dress you had picked out. It was a little more form-fitting than you usually wore, but you couldn't help but love how it hugged your curves just right.

You paired it with black tights to keep things a little more casual, but still polished, and added some simple accessories—a gold necklace that rested just at the collarbone, a few rings, and delicate gold hoops in your ears.

Your makeup was soft yet defined, just enough to highlight your features, and your hair? You pinned it up into a neat curled bun, letting two strands fall loosely on either side of your face, softening the look.

You added a cute headband that had little red bows on the sides, just to tie it all together.

Your apartment was decorated
in full Christmas glory—sparkling lights on the tree, festive garlands along the walls, and the warm scent of cinnamon and pine filling the air.

You'd gone all out this year, wanting to make things cozy, inviting—perfect.

As you stood there, checking yourself over one last time, the reality of the situation sank in.
Daisuke would be here soon.

The man who had confessed his feelings for you in a drunken haze,
the one you'd been trying to avoid addressing ever since.
How could you even look him in the eyes after that?

You rubbed your temples as a wave of self-doubt washed over you.
What if he was regretting it?

What if he thought you were avoiding him because you didn't feel the same way? Or worse, what if he thought you didn't care at all?

You sighed, trying to calm the thoughts that spiraled, but nothing seemed to settle. Your stomach was doing flips, both from excitement and the simmering tension that had been building for weeks.

You couldn't deny it anymore.

You liked him.
Maybe more than you wanted to.

Your phone buzzed on the counter, snapping you out of your spiraling thoughts.
A message from Daisuke, just like you expected. "I'm on my way."

You smiled, heart fluttering despite yourself.

Taking a deep breath, you grabbed the carefully wrapped gift for him, glancing one more time at the decorations, the holiday cheer filling the room.
Despite the nerves, the confusion, and the weight of unspoken words between the two of you, you couldn't help but smile.

Christmas had always been a time for surprises. And maybe, just maybe, today would be the beginning of something different between you and Daisuke.
