5 days before the party...
Mangle sat quietly in the vents at the old pizzeria, hiding from whatever lurks within. It had been a while since Chica was attacked, though she was unsure exactly how long ago it was. She tried her best not to break down, and expose herself to whoever was lurking below.
Don't get caught, don't get caught, don't get caught! She noticed she was repeating the same thing in her head over and over again. The only thing she cared about at this moment was not dying.
Not being able to move was causing a strain on her paws. She hadn't moved in hours, trying to stay as quiet as possible. She could hear shuffling underneath her, knowing it was Springtrap lurking below. She waited a moment, seeing if he would disappear into another room. Then she would make a bolt for it.
After what felt like an eternity she heard him walk off, and she slowly started crawling through the vents. She knew her way around the vents quite well, having spent most of her time in them. She was in the vent above Mr. Afton's office, which was not connected to the main vent system. The vent she was in connected to the outside, which wasn't far from where she was currently located. Her main challenge was getting there without getting spotted.
What if the others are dead? She subconsciously thought about the reality of the situation. She hadn't heard movement in hours, which meant there was a chance they were gone. She had to push the thought away.
She kept crawling, keeping a slow but steady pace. She would halt for a second whenever she heard movement below her, but for the most part it was quiet. After a moment she saw the exit in the distance, and she sped up, wanting to get out as soon as possible.
Suddenly, she heard a noise from the place she had just left. It sounded like someone was breaking through the vents. Feeling her heart rate go up, Mangle crawled as fast as she could through the vents, knowing that every second counted. She no longer cared if she was heard, she cared about escaping.
Shit shit shit! She heard what sounded like a claw scraping against the metal as she raced to the end of the vent. Seconds felt like eternity as the exit was so close, yet so far for her. The sound of someone entering the vents behind her filled her head with dark thoughts. Springtrap would have no fear in following her out of the building, especially if he knew Mangle would lead him to her friends.
She heard the sounds of movement get closer. The space was too tight to turn around, so she just prayed Springtrap was not too close. She reached the exit to the vent and pushed against it.
It didn't budge.
She pushed harder, doing everything in her power to escape the hell she got trapped in. After a few seconds she managed to get it loose, and pushed through to the outside.
She fell to the ground with a thump. Not hesitating, she got on her feet and started running as far as she could. She heard noise behind her, but did not look back. She didn't need to. She knew he was following her.
I can't lead him to the others. Mangle realized she couldn't go. Then she realized she didn't actually know where the others were. She was alone.
She ran for a good few minutes before slowing to a stop. She needed to think about what she was going to do if she wanted to find them.
Mangle thought about where the others would go. There were two options that came to mind right away: the old Freddy Fazbear's location and Fredbear's. Mangle laid down, questioning which they would have been more likely to go to.
Fredbear's would have been the safer option, knowing that Springtrap would never consider looking there. However, Mangle knew Golden Freddy avoided that place like the plague, and is more likely to have brought the animatronics to her old pizzeria. Would he really risk the other's lives like that though?
