2 - the wrong number.

THE NEXT DAY

camillas pov!
raelynn and i finally made it home from the apple store, she had been excited all day since last night about getting a new phone, and it didn't take long for her to set everything up during the drive back. as we walked into the living room, i could see her still focused on her screen, swiping through settings and personalizing the phone just the way she wanted it.

we both sat onto the couch, and i could tell raelynn was getting a little anxious once she glanced at the time on her phone, "oh no, i'm going to be late for my shift!" she said, almost talking to herself, but loud enough for me to hear.
"camilla, i need to give you my new number!" she added, looking at me in a bit of a panic.
"oh, right!" i said, quickly sitting up, "uh, pass me a pen, ill write it down onto my hand."
raelynn nodded and frantically searched through her bag, pulling out an old pen she found buried in the bottom. she handed it to me while unlocking her phone to show me her new number, but instead of me writing it down, raelynn took the pen from my hand, her fingers brushing against mine as she quickly wrote her number down onto my hand, careful not to mess it up. i could tell she was in a rush, glancing nervously at the time on her phone.
once she finished writing, raelynn stuffed the pen back into her bag, she glanced at the time again and stood up, clearly feeling the pressure. "im going to be late if i don't leave right now, bye camilla!" she said, her voice filled with urgency.
"bye, raee! have a good day!" i called out, giving her a quick wave as she headed for the door. the last thing i heard was the soft click of the door locking behind her, the house fell quiet one again, and i was left alone, the silence settling in and feeling oddly lonely.

i lean over and grab my phone from the coffee table, sitting back down onto the couch.
knowing raelynns shift will be a few hours, i decide to add her new number into my contacts now instead of later in case she wanted someone to talk to later on her shift.

i glance down at my hand once i pulled up the keypad to enter a new contact number, i was entering her number until i came across a particular number she wrote down onto my hand, i wasnt sure if it was a 'one' or 'seven'. her hand writing was far different from mine so i had no idea i sat there trying to make out which one it could be but came to the decision to it being a seven, unsure if i was correct.
once i had added the contact, i change the name to 'raeuhhlynn😼'.
when i had done that i go to message the number so it shows for raelynn.

i wait for a moment, unsure if he would message back but after a while i realise he would just leave me on read as i noticed the 'last seen at..' popped up at the top.

i felt a bit embarrassed after i realised i have entered the wrong number instead of raelynn's actual one. after a brief moment of hesitation, i corrected it and added her real number. still, just to be sure, i decided i'd ask her to confirm.

raelynn had not responded, and i assumed she was busy with work. so, i had decided to leave my phone on sound, hoping she would be on break soon. that way, i could message or facetime her and explain what had happened earlier..

to pass the time i had decided to put a movie on, i grab a blanket and pull it over me as i scrolled through the options of movies.
i had soon decided on my favourite movie, scream.
it was the 1996 one, the best one yet in my opinion, i laid down on the couch and focused onto the movie playing, letting time pass.
