Author's POV:

Anushka stood frozen, her heart pounding as Rudra's words echoed in her mind. "Let's just say I've been waiting to meet you for a long time." There was something in his tone-something sincere, yet mysterious-that made her chest tighten.

She wanted to ask him how he knew her name, but she couldn't bring herself to form the words. Everything about him felt strange, yet oddly comforting. His presence was a stark contrast to the whirlwind of emotions consuming her after what she had just witnessed.

Rudra, on the other hand, was calm on the outside, but his mind was racing. He had planned this moment in his head countless times, but reality was far more complicated than he had imagined. Seeing her in this broken state wasn't part of his plan.

Anushka's thoughts wandered back to her boyfriend-no, her ex-boyfriend-kissing that girl. The scene replayed in her mind like a broken record, each replay cutting deeper than the last. Her world had come crashing down in an instant, and now here she was, standing before a stranger who claimed to have been waiting for her.

"Why do you care?" she finally asked, her voice quieter now, almost fragile.

Rudra tilted his head slightly, his cold gaze softening as he looked at her. He could see through her façade, through the walls she was desperately trying to hold up. "Because I know what it's like to lose everything," he said simply.

His words struck a chord in her, and for a brief moment, she let her guard down. But just as quickly, she shook her head, as if trying to clear the thoughts invading her mind. She didn't know this boy. She couldn't trust him. Not after what she had just been through.

"Listen," she said, her tone sharp again, "I don't need your pity. I don't even know you."

Rudra smiled faintly, his expression unreadable. "You will," he said confidently.

Before she could respond, a gust of wind blew through the narrow alley where they stood, sending a chill down her spine. Rudra instinctively removed his jacket and placed it around her shoulders. She wanted to protest, but the warmth of the jacket and the gesture itself silenced her.

As she clutched the fabric around herself, she couldn't help but wonder who this boy really was. There was something about him-something dark, something intriguing-that made it impossible for her to turn away.

Little did she know, Rudra had been watching her from afar, waiting for this moment to step into her life. He had secrets-secrets that could either save her or destroy them both. But one thing was clear: Rudra wasn't just some stranger. He was here for a reason, and he wasn't planning on leaving anytime soon.

As they stood there in silence, the weight of the past began to lift, replaced by the uncertainty of what lay ahead. Both of them were broken in their own ways, but perhaps, just perhaps, they were exactly what the other needed.............

Rudra's POV:

I watched her, the girl I'd been silently drawn to for what felt like an eternity. Anushka. Even her name felt like poetry. I had waited, biding my time, watching her smile, watching her break. But seeing her in pain today? It was unbearable.

When she stumbled, it was instinct that made me catch her. The moment she looked up at me with those tear-filled eyes, something inside me shifted. She looked so fragile, so lost, yet there was a fire in her gaze. A fire I couldn't let burn out.

"Are you lost, babygirl?" I asked, trying to keep my tone light. I wasn't sure what response I expected, but her silence said more than words ever could. Her eyes spoke of heartbreak, betrayal, and the kind of sadness that no one should endure.
