Hanamaki and Matsukawa have been friends for 2 years now. No not friends, best friends. Their bond is an unbreakable one. Until, hanamakki started liking someone.. And that someone was Matsukawa.
To be honest, hanamakki started liking him ever since he saw him. The time they have spent with each other is uncountable, so it would be expected that they would fall in love...
Hanamaki had enough of his feelings and decided that he would tell Matsukawa today. Well, they were going out all day today, so yelling him right before they part ways was the most logical thing to do

They met up at the park near their houses and walked together to the grocery store to buy some snacks. Hanamaki got some spicy chips while Matsukawa just chose oregano flavored ones. They walked over to the park that was 5 minutes away from the store. This was also the place where the two boys usually split up to go home.
Hanamaki knew what he was gonna do. First, they'd hang out and like normal and hanamaki would try his best to hide his feelings. Second, he'd stop Matsukawa at the park before they split up and tell him his feelings. Simple enough.
They had arrived by the time hanamaki had made his "plan". The duo walked over to the bench and sat down.

4pm
After stopping by the park for 3 hours, they went over to a bridge close to the convenience store (shii I love putting references from my other fics 😍) and walked the whole distance for like 9 times.
They talked about a lot of stuff, and even hanamaki broke down to Matsukawa, but of course Matsukawa made jokes out it in order to lighten up hanamakis mood. This is just what hanamaki needs, positivity.
They also use a LOT of brainrot terms, and always fake flirt (omg me and bff). But is it really fake?..

6 pm (yes I know a lot of timeskip leave me alone I'm going through writing block and depression ♥️)
"hey alpha, wanna sneak into aoba and play volleyball?" the pink haired boy asked the darker haired boy.
"sure kitten. But I gotta be home by 8pm. I got 2/100 on my math test." Matsukawa responded, but immediately regretted it
...
"HAHAHHA NO FREAKING WAY.. 2?!?! THAT'S LIKE 0,02/10 AHAHA"
"Stop it kitten... Or else alpha will get angy.."
Hanamaki walked a bit faster and turned around to face Matsukawa. He grabbed the tallers chin and slowly turned mattsuns head to face him
"I'd like to see you angry, papi" he replied flirtatiously with a playful wink, and quickly left the reach the school, Matsukawa not long after him.

Right before they were about to part ways, at the park
Ok, this was it. This was the time hanamaki would confess. They walked over to the park where they would part ways.
"night kitte-" as Matsukawa was about to leave, hanamakki caught him by the wrist, not allowing him to move
"W-wait! I need to tell you something.. Important" Maki replied anxiously. He knew this was the time, yet... He was scared
"well talk kitty"
..
"Matsukawa.. I-. I like you.. No I love you.. You always make me feel some type of way that no one else has. You're really skibidi, and I find you very Kai cenat"
... Silence. A type of silence that breaks hearts. A type of silence that makes you feel uncomfortable. A type of silence filled with sadness..
"I'm sorry hanamaki, I can't... I don't love you back..."
That's when hanamakis heart got crushed into millions of pieces. Why did he think that confessing was a good idea... Why why why why why.
"b-but why not?" Maki asked
"I wish you were a girl" Matsukawa simply replied
Tears were now streaming down makis face, like a small, endless river. He looked at the ground and quickly ran away from the park, making his way to his home. He could hear Matsukawa shouting his name and trying to follow after him, but he knew that after that the taller boy didn't want to taln to the younger boy.
As Maki got home, he quickly took off his shoes and went upstairs to his bedroom. He played on his bed trying to comprehend the words that were just told to him. "I wish you were a girl".. Why.. Why did it have to be Matsukawa. Why did he have to fall I love with such a guy. Why did he meet him at the festival...

Matsukawa had called hanamaki endless times, but all the attempts were unsuccessful. Hanamaki just needed space..
