In the studio (Y/N's pov):

The studio had become a second home for Rosé—quiet, familiar, and steady. But as the days wore on, it wasn't just the music that anchored her. It was Y/N. There was something about the way they listened to her, something that made her feel seen, and understood, like no one else ever did. It was more than just professional now. It had become personal. Every glance exchanged when no one was watching, every conversation that lasted longer than expected.

But Rosé wasn't the only one noticing the change. Sam Kim, Y/N's best friend, and Y/N's longtime confidant, had been watching closely, knowing more than anyone else about Y/N's unspoken feelings for Rosé.

It was a quiet afternoon when Sam caught Y/N in the hallway after Rosé had left to grab a coffee.

"You're still calling her 'Rosie', huh?" Sam teased, leaning against the wall with a knowing smirk.

Y/N blinked, looking almost startled, but their lips quirked into a small, unbothered smile. "What's wrong with that?"

Sam raised an eyebrow, folding their arms across their chest. "You don't call anyone else by their nickname. You're obviously soft for her."

Y/N shifted their weight, eyes flicking down the hallway as though trying to avoid Sam's gaze. "I'm not 'soft'," they muttered, though there was an unmistakable tension in their voice.

Sam wasn't fooled. They tilted their head, eyes softening with a mix of affection and concern. "Look, I get it. Rosé's not just another client. I can see it in the way you look at her. But I've got to ask, what's going on with you two? Is this more than just the music?"

Y/N sighed, rubbing the back of their neck. "It's complicated. She's in a relationship. I don't want to make it weird. Besides, I'm here to help her, not... complicate things."

Sam studied them carefully, not buying it for a second. "Well, just make sure you're not fooling yourself. You can't help someone if you're too caught up in your own feelings."

Before Y/N could respond, a familiar voice rang out from down the hallway.

"Everything alright?" Rosé asked, coming back into the studio with two coffee cups in her hands, her eyes briefly flicking between Sam and Y/N.

Y/N quickly forced a smile, the intensity of the conversation already retreating into the background. "Yeah, all good. Thanks for the coffee."

Rosé nodded, handing one cup to Sam, then taking a seat beside Y/N at the control board. There was a brief moment of silence, but it wasn't uncomfortable—just the kind of quiet that settled between people who understood each other without needing to fill every space with words. The hum of the equipment in the room was the only sound as Rosé sipped her coffee, her gaze lingering on Y/N for a second too long.

Y/N noticed it, though they didn't let it show. "Thanks for being patient with me. I know I've been... slow today."

"Don't worry about it," Rosé replied softly, meeting Y/N's eyes. "We'll get there. I know we will."

There was something in the way they looked at each other—something warm but heavy—that neither of them spoke about. And in that moment, it wasn't about the music anymore. It was about something unspoken, something building quietly in the spaces between them.

..........................................

Later that evening, the studio was bustling with activity. A recording session had been scheduled last-minute, and the pressure was on. Rosé was in the booth, belting out lyrics with an intensity that made her voice crack, but in a way that was raw and beautiful.
