At 2 PM Beijing time, the number of online users for Dragon Journal had already reached 500,000. This was an unprecedented number, and it was still growing. Many scholars from various countries had initially logged on to watch the spectacle of what they thought would be Dragon Country's embarrassing failure, ready to mock them. However, upon reading the SCI papers published in Dragon Journal, they were stunned. They couldn't believe the quality of the work, nor could they believe it was written by scholars from Dragon Country.
Though only four SCI papers were published in the first issue, each one was of the highest caliber, comparable to the top journals in the West. Particularly remarkable were Jiang Fanshu's papers on the P vs NP Problem and Quantum Theory. Currently, no SCI paper could rival them.
In international forums:
Country G: "The four SCI papers from Dragon Country are of immense value, especially the Quantum Theory paper, which elevates physics to an entirely new level."Country Y: "As a scholar in mathematics, I must say that Jiang Fanshu's solution to the P vs NP Problem is truly astounding. The breadth of knowledge encapsulated in it is monumental; calling it a knowledge database would not be an exaggeration."Country L: "I wholeheartedly agree. I spent four hours studying the P vs NP Problem solution. It was absolutely mind-blowing."Country P: "Not long ago, Professor Holt of Beautiful Country also published his paper on the P vs NP Problem. At the time, I thought it was remarkable. But after reading Dragon Country's version, I realized that Professor Holt's paper was fundamentally flawed."
From these four SCI papers, it was clear that scholars from Dragon Country were truly a force to be reckoned with.
Country P: "Consider this: with 5,000 years of history, Dragon Country is one of the four ancient civilizations still standing. If their people didn't possess exceptional abilities, how could they have endured this long?"Country G: "You're absolutely right. From now on, Country G should engage in more academic exchanges with Dragon Country."
The reactions from Beautiful Country and Sakura Country were markedly different. As their academic leaders seethed with frustration, they had no choice but to acknowledge the excellence of Dragon Country's work. Sakura Country even issued a public statement congratulating Dragon Country on the success of Dragon Journal.
By 3 PM, Cheng Shu, the head of Dragon Journal, was reviewing the data when his secretary rushed in with a message.
"Mr. Cheng, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from Country Y is on the line. They wish to speak with you."
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs from Country Y?" Cheng Shu was puzzled. This was a journal office, not the foreign ministry. Why would they be calling him here? He assumed that if they wanted to discuss something with Dragon Country, they would have called the foreign department.
Nevertheless, Cheng Shu picked up the phone.
"Hello, I'm Cheng Shu, head of Dragon Journal."
"Mr. Cheng, hello. This is Jeffrey from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Country Y. On behalf of Country Y, I'd like to extend our warm congratulations on the successful launch of Dragon Journal."
"Thank you very much, Mr. Jeffrey."
"Mr. Cheng, we hope that our two countries can engage in deeper academic exchanges in the future."
"That would be most welcome."
After hanging up the phone, Cheng Shu was elated. He hadn't expected that just six hours after the publication of Dragon Journal, countries would be reaching out to establish academic collaboration. He was eager to share the good news with the first person he could think of.
Before he could dial, however, the phone rang again.
Looking at the caller ID, Cheng Shu saw that it was another international call. He answered promptly.
"Hello, I'm Cheng Shu, head of Dragon Journal."
"Hello, Mr. Cheng, this is Kyle, a representative from Country P's academic organization. First of all, congratulations on the successful launch of Dragon Journal..."
For the next two hours, Cheng Shu was inundated with congratulatory calls from countries around the world. As these countries continued to share their congratulatory messages internationally, the academic leaders of Beautiful Country and Country F were fuming.
They had initially expected to see Dragon Country's failure, but now, they had to accept that Dragon Country had not only succeeded but had also positioned itself as a new academic powerhouse. The leaders of Sakura Country followed suit, issuing a public statement congratulating Dragon Country on the success of Dragon Journal.
This enraged Beautiful Country, which found themselves with no choice but to rethink their approach.
Meanwhile, Dragon Country issued another public announcement to the world: "Evidence of Professor Holt of Beautiful Country stealing Dragon Country's SCI papers has been submitted to the United Nations judicial department."
The news spread rapidly, and soon, a post was circulating on international websites: Evidence of Professor Holt's Theft of Dragon Country's SCI Papers! Holt, upon reading the post, was horrified. The post contained screenshots of email exchanges between Jiang Fanshu and SIAMREV journal, leaving him no room for denial. His reputation was now in ruins, and worse, he was likely to face UN sanctions.
Holt bitterly regretted his actions, but there was no way to undo what had been done. Worse still, he could end up in prison. Desperate, he called a high-ranking official from a country that had been involved in the theft of Jiang Fanshu's papers, hoping for assistance.
"Don't worry, Professor Holt. As long as you remain on the soil of Beautiful Country, no one can touch you," the official reassured him. Holt, feeling somewhat relieved, knew that Beautiful Country was the dominant power on Blue Star, and as long as he stayed within its borders, he was safe.
That same day, Dragon Country made another announcement: "We have developed the IERT Supermagnet material." When Beautiful Country saw the performance data of the IERT Supermagnet, they could no longer remain complacent. The material's performance exceeded their own by a factor of five.
Since the IERT magnet material was a technological product that Beautiful Country had once monopolized, this announcement effectively shattered their monopoly. To make matters worse, Dragon Country was now ahead in the field. Realizing they had been outpaced, Beautiful Country immediately initiated a voice call with Dragon Country.
The first words from Beautiful Country were, "Congratulations on the successful launch of Dragon Journal!"
