Jinx
_____

Silco's hands are placed firmly over hers. Nervously, her chest rises up and down. "Shh," Silco coos, attempting to calm the girl down.

Luckily, they're doing it during the day this time. The last time was disastrous when there was barely any illumination to help guide Jinx. "That's it," Silco sighs when Jinx hovers the shot above his eyeball. Jinx feels nauseous and wishes she could look away from this procedure, but she's the one performing it. The purple vile barely shakes with Silco's assistance.

"Are you ready?" Silco peers up at Jinx from his relaxed position in his eccentric chair. Jinx stands just above his eye and steels her nerves; she will not miss this time.

Nodding her head up and down, "Yeah, I've got it." She says arrogantly. An illusion of her true feelings. Her thumb prods at the trigger. "Alright," Silco says. He widens his eyes, and the orange eye radiates in the sunlight.

"Three," Jinx begins to slowly count him down. "Two... one." She presses her thumb down on the trigger. Silco is directly injected with the intoxicating shimmer.

The contact causes Silco to lurch forward in agony. His hand scrapes Jinx's when he reaches to his face. He slouches in his seat and claws at his face. "Gagh," he groans. Jinx looks down at the red scratch he left in his wake. Her thumb runs over the skin which is elevating due to the irritation. Silco's heavy breathing slows down and he catches his breath. With a strained voice, he apologizes.

"It's okay," Jinx assures him. The sound of creaking doors has her attention. Quickly shifting from him to the large office doors Silco's office resides in. Sevika unsurprisingly saunters in and thankfully Y/n is accompanying her. Jinx wishes she could've arrived two minutes earlier, so she would have saved her from her least favorite chore. But all that matters is that she's here.

Jinx's friend naturally exuded confidence with her shoulders rolled back and her head held high. Jinx knew her pink eyes sparkled with admiration. "Y/n!" She sighed.

"I trust you can do this on your own," Sevika states. The two of us enter the quiet Last Drop. Before four in the afternoon, the establishment remains bare with few customers.

I scoff. "Even Dustin could do this on his own." The man was a skilled fighter sure, but he's a pro at being irresponsible. "We get the supplies and then we get out," I repeat the plan Sevika's told me countless times.

Her brows are furrowed in thought, but she stays quiet. We arrive in front of Silco's office doors, and she opens up the doors. She saunters into the room with her cape flowing behind her and her golden arm shining in the sunlight. I deeply inhale air to puff out my chest and attempt to mimic the confidence Sevika exudes.

My shoulders are rolled back as far as they can go and my chin is tilted high. Sevika is like a beacon in Silco's cramped eerie room. He relaxingly sits in his chair. His eyes scour me and Sevika. Just look onwards at Sevika I tell myself, but my shoulders unknowingly roll forward.

"Y/n." The familiar voice of the blue-haired girl calls out. Her eyes are wide with excitement.

Jinx runs towards me her small braids dangling as she skips. She leaps onto me her arms encompassing my neck. The sudden affection is overwhelming, and I feel my body tense up. I softly push Jinx off of me.

"Can you believe it? We finally get to go on a solo mission?!" She exclaims with exaggerated hand motions.

"No, I can't," I say my voice void of any enthusiasm. The idea of stealing and fighting enforcers was not how I wanted to spend my day.
