Isla sits there. Waiting. Patiently. Well as patiently as her heart will allow.
Only a couple more hours left and she'll be at the alter, her hands in another's, ready to be married.
She hadn't met his family but she'd met him. Through a picture on her dads email - an email she had secretly looked for.
From her knowledge he was a well educated bachelor - although that title would be taken away in a matter of hours - who lived a couple hours away from her fathers house.
The main reason she had barley any idea as to who she'd be signing her life away to, was because her father had sold her.
She would be out of his hair soon and her heart was broken. Her own father. The first man she'd ever loved and that was saying something. Her father was no man to be loved. He never gave her his love. The attic and food on the table were the only things she'd received from him. Yes, she should be grateful. Yes, she is grateful. But how sad.
Her father had never shown an ounce of love towards her or anyone for that matter. Maybe the two dogs, Rover and Riley but he was never even home to see them. She was. Mainly because she never left the house. Not even for school. Tutors would show up. Smile her way, teach and then they'd be on their way. Out of the house and out of her life.
But this guy she was destined to be married with in a couple of hours? Well, there's no way, he'd be getting out of her life. Not yet, at least.
