Chapter #5: Love Me to the Bone The Compound Fracture of Akane's Heart

Today, Ranma rants about Akane and how she hit him in the head with Kuno's sword. He grabs a bag of potato chips and starts rambling again, only to throw the bag to the wall out of frustration. His father sees the crumbs on the floor, grabs them with his toes, and eats them.

"Why does she always have to make fun of me?" Ranma gets up and starts walking out of the room with his father beside him. "Fade into the woodwork, that's the trick," Genma says as he pounds his right shoulder, not seeing Ranma behind him.

"Hmm?" Ranma throws him into the pond, "Don't you got nothin' better to do?" he says as he walks away. Genma stares at him as he emerges from the water in his panda form.

In the dojo, the twins and their father, Soun Tendo are seen sparing with each other. Akane advances and grabs Soun. She starts to reminisce about what Ranma said earlier in the day, 'You better start working to make yourself at least half as sexy as me, otherwise you'll never get a husband.' She gets angry and punches Soun in the face. Y/n rushes to her father and catches him, the poor man is knocked out cold, "Father! Father! Are you with us?! How many fingers am I holding up?!" He doesn't answer but his eyes are open. Then he faints with Akane yelling for Kasumi and Nabiki.

They took him to his bedroom and laid him down to rest. Kasumi puts a bag of ice on his head to cool him down. She then turns to Akane and takes her hand, "Akane, I want you to listen to me as if I were our poor dear departed mother, okay?" Y/n and Akane looked at her in shock with Akane answering a yes. Kasumi seems troubled, "Listen, promise me you'll never hit someone out of anger again." Akane is stunned and Y/n has been quiet for a long while now leaving Akane uneasy. "Akane?"

"Yeah but-" "Promise me Akane."

Y/n put her hand on top of Akane's hand making her acknowledge the gesture. "Okay..."

Soun opened his eyes and listened to the conversation between the two. Later in the evening, Kasumi sent the twins to buy some ingredients for the food. Akane turned and looked at the sunset: "Wow! Y/N, look at the beautiful sunset!" As her sister smiled at the sky, she said, "You're right, Akana. The colours are so vibrant, too." They walked forward.

Soun and Genma (in his panda form) sat beside each other having a serious conversation. "I'm afraid things seem to be getting worse rather than good, Saotome." Soun picks up the kettle and pours it on the panda. "You're right, we have to do something." They sat there with their arms folded, thinking. Minutes later, the twins were walking hand in hand with the items they just bought.

They looked up to see Ranma walking on the metal fence, looking at them. The twins were walking down the street with the items they had just bought from the store. They heard metal clicking and looked up, only to see Ranma looking back at them. Akane stopped making her sister do the same as she looked between the two.

"What do you want?"

"What do you care?"

"Come on, guys let's make amends and forget about the ordeal?"

Akane turns her head and walks away while Y/n sighs and decides to stay quiet, knowing that they'll start bickering any time now. Ranma turns his head and stirs the pot more, saying, "Lemme guess, you're followin' me around 'cause you think some of my good looks will rub off on yah?" Y/n gasps as she looks at her sister who stops in her tracks. "You've got no chance of catching a husband otherwise."

Akane jumped onto the fence, "Ranma, stop it or I'll....!" She stops, remembering what her dear older sister told her this evening.

"I promised my sister that I wouldn't hit guys anymore."
