The hospital doors slid open, and Baji stomped out with all the enthusiasm of a kid breaking out of detention. Takemichi watched from the curb, struggling to contain a smile. There was something endearing about the way Baji’s eyes lit up as he spotted the familiar faces waiting for him—Draken, Chifuyu, Mitsuya, Smiley, Angry and a few other Toman members leaning against their bikes.

“You sure took your time, huh?” Draken smirked, crossing his arms as Baji approached.

“Blame the doctors for sticking me with another checkup,” Baji grumbled, though his voice was light. His gaze softened as he took in his friends, like he’d just realized how much he’d missed them. “They act like I’m made of glass or something.”

“Maybe that’s because you got yourself into an accident." Chifuyu chimed in, grinning as he tossed a small paper bag into Baji’s hands. “Here. Thought you’d appreciate some real food instead of hospital mush.”

Baji opened the bag, his eyes lighting up as he saw a neatly wrapped rice ball and a couple of snacks. “Finally! That hospital junk was killing me,” he laughed, tearing into the rice ball right there on the sidewalk.

"Let's go celebrate!" Smiley put his hands in the air. And everyone hoped on their bike. But then no one started driving.

"Wait... where are we going exactly?" Hakkai asks.

No one had an answer. They did keep saying they'd celebrate baji's release but didn't exactly plan anything.

"There's a fireworks festival in Asakusa." Mitsuya suggests.

"Sounds good to me" draken looks around the group to see if anyone disagrees.

"That takes like almost an hour on a bike!" Peh whines.

"It'll go by faster than you think." Mitsuya says while already starting his motorbike, and driving of following with the other members.

While the ride takemichi had some time to think about everything. After what happened that night when he was with Mikey they never mentioned it again. Mikey also brushed off all the comments about his hair, saying he just got tired of styling it.

But it felt like takemichi's mind still hasn't caught up with everything. The nightmares still reappear, and the flashbacks are still there. He never wants to admit it but sometimes he even sees people from the past. For a second he could swear he sees kisaki but after blinking it was just another stranger. Or sometimes he'll forget shinichiro is alive, or izana.

He tried going to therapy before, so did Mikey. They both agreed on trying to get better. But they quickly realised that they can't talk openly without sounding like a crazy person. The time travelling, the murders, they all never existed in this timeline.

So they only had each other to rely on.

"We're here." Chifuyu says and pats takemichi on the back, which snaps him back from his thoughts.

They all parked their bikes and walked into the festival. Crowds of people and loud chattering and music hit them. Some strangers stepped away when they saw the delinquents.

Takemichi couldn't help but sigh when he saw makoto and yamagishi enjoying the feeling of being feared.
"They're total idiots." Akkun said, but he had a smile on his face.

"Yes, they are." Takemichi chuckled.
"Why didn't Takuya join?"

"He said he wanted to study." Akkun answered.

"MITCHY!" Mikey yelled and then got a slap behind his head for it from draken.

"Go on, I'll go join makoto and yamagishi." Akkun said to takemichi, patting his back before joining his other friends.
