The camp's mess hall bustled with energy as the early morning sun filtered through the large windows. The scent of pancakes and sizzling bacon filled the air, mingling with the chatter of counselors and campers preparing for the day's adventures. At the center of it all, Xander stood with a plate piled high with food, his face scrunching as he eyed the mystery meat.

Xander loading up on carbs. "I'll load up on the carbs, Ravi. For our overnight hike, and because I have no idea what that meat is."

Zuri, leaning casually against the counter with her signature mischievous grin, crossed her arms and glanced at Ravi, who was scanning the room like he was on a mission.

Zuri grinning. "Ravi, guess what? Mom and Dad are sailing up the coast of Maine, and they're coming to visit today!"

Emma, sitting at the table with her long, sun-streaked hair pulled into a messy bun, practically bounced in her seat. She'd been waiting for this day for weeks.

Emma enthusiastic. "I am so excited to show Mom my CIT skills. Sure, she's seen me model in Milan, but she'll be more excited to watch me sing 'Boom-Chicka-Rocka' with nine-year-olds!"

Ravi, who had been munching on his breakfast, paused with his spoon mid-air as he processed the excitement in the room.

Ravi grinning, a little sarcastic. "I'm so pumped I get to spend the day with Mrs. Mommy! I mean, I guess Mom's cool, too."

Xander, looking up from his overflowing plate, raised an eyebrow.

Xander half-joking. "Ravi, we're supposed to be taking our campers up to Glass Lake."

Ravi chuckled, clearly not too concerned about the schedule.

Ravi teasing. "Let me guess, they call it that because the water is as clear as glass?"

Xander, with a deadpan look, dropped his fork onto his plate, setting the scene for what was surely an infamous camp story.

Xander smirking. "No, because it's full of broken bottles. Come on, Ravi, I really need you on this hike."

Zuri, who had been quietly watching the back-and-forth, raised an eyebrow and leaned closer to Xander, curious.

Zuri surprised. "You need Ravi?"

Xander, rolling his eyes but smiling, nodded toward the table where Ravi was now giving an exaggerated salute with his spoon.

Xander earnestly. "Yes. He's a great CIT and a natural leader. Plus, he knows how to work that GPS thing-a-ma-jig."

Just then, the loud sound of footsteps echoed through the mess hall, and everyone turned to see Christina, camp's legendary counselor, walking in. Her stylish outdoor gear made her look more like a model than a camp veteran.

Christina enthusiastically. "Hello! Where are my babies? Uh, I'm pretty sure you're not one of my kids."

Lou, who had just popped in behind Christina, let out a laugh, adjusting her oversized sunglasses. She stood a little too tall for a camper, her presence commanding attention without even trying.
