I drove my new blue four door truck through the car wash as I thought about my day.
Why did Jason act weird around Layla?
What didn't I know?
What did she gave against me?
Way did I ever do to her?
What will her reaction be when she tries to open her locker tomorrow?
What did the clerk think when she purchased the hello kitty items?
That last question had me laughing. A teenager buying a ton of stickers and a pop up Hello Kitty? He must of though she was mental. He might have even considered calling the cops with how weird her makeup looked...
I was laughing so hard, I needed to pee. As soon as the drive through was over, I paid the man and ran inside the gas station. As I passed the pop machine, I saw a new smoothie machine. "F'real? What the heck is that?"
A small girl with pigtails tapped me on the shoulder. She looked very familiar...
"You were asking 'bout f'reals?" I nodded so she continued. "All you have to do is take off the top and put it in the holder there." She pointed to a metal cup under a blue machine with a big screen. "Then, you select a thickness, I prefer more thick, and then it blends it. It's only 3 dollars and its delicious!" She bounced up and down on her toes and pointed to a plastic cup behind the glass. What was she, a store clerk selling me her new product? Even if she wasn't, I was sold! "That one's my favo-," she was suddenly grabbed by the arm and pulled away buy none other then Jackson. "Hey! I was telling her about f'reals!" The little girl yelped.
Jackson smiled apologetically to me and murmured a sorry before pulling his little sister away from me.
I went to the bathroom and walked out of the gas station with a cotton candy f'real in my hand. That's the one that Jackson's little sister said she liked the best. It wasn't bad, maybe I'd be stopping at this gas station more often on the way home.
I pulled out of the gas station and onto highway 36. I headed home and parked in the driveway I walked in and hollered "I'm home!" To anyone who cared. Only my dog, Jocco seemed to, as he bounded up the stairs to greet me. I picked him up and covered him with kisses as he squirmed in my arms. I carried him down the stairs to my room where I tossed him on my bed and flopped down next to him. Jocco seemed to realize I was stressed and started to cover me with kisses. Then, he ran to the door and jumped up and down barking. He wanted to go for a run, which wasn't a bad idea.
I grabbed his leash and wrapped it up in my hand. He didn't usually need it because he was a smart dog, but I always brought it along in case we crossed any busy streets.
Jocco seemed to want to go to the dog park in town and started dragging me towards it. What surprised me was the house we stopped in from of.
It was Blake's house.
He was there.

"Paisley?"
Paisley has been standing there at his house drooling over her hot best friend for at least 30 seconds. She watched how his muscles flexed as he picked up a packing box and brought it to his front steps, then turned slightly to catch his face in the breeze and wipe his forehead, causing his shirt to rise, showing off his abs, then down to his basketball shorts and strong calves. He turned to grab another box when he spotted me staring. "Close your mouth, you'll let flies in," he said, knowing that I was checking him out.
"Uhm, uhh, how was Florida?" I asked, trying to ease my embarrassment.
He chuckled at my rosie cheeks. "It was great. Moms good and misses you. She was hoping to see you soon after I settled in."
"I'd love to see her! I didn't really get to say goodbye after the... incident...." I said, making our conversation awkward again. "I'm sorry, I know your probably trying to forget, it just slip-,"
"Stop, I'm fine. I just don't think about it. Anyway. How are you? You didn't replace me, did you? " He said with a joking smile, but it didn't quite reach his eyes. He seemed to be still on the previous topic.
"What made you think I'd ever be able to replace you?" He smiled and shrugged, picking up the next box labeled 'Kitchen'. "Want some help?" Blake nodded and pointed to some boxes.
"Just bring in those to the living room. If they're to heavy, leave them out here for me to bring in." Then Blake turned on his heel and walked inside with a heavy looking box. I picked up a small box and carried it up the steps to the house. When I stepped inside Blake's house, I gasped. It was huge! I mean I knew what it looked like, it just looked so different! There were high ceilings and the railings of the stairs were a brown/ gold color. The ceiling had different shaped cut out of it and in the top, there was a skylight.
I walked around, trying to find the living room, but instead, I found a kitchen with a bar and 8 white and orange chairs. I walked out the screen door, only to find an outdoor lap pool with colorful lights. His house was gorgeous! I wandered around a bit longer until I found a theater like room, filled with boxes. I set my light box down with the rest and sat in the inviting orange chair.
"Oh my god, I'm in heaven!" I whispered to myself. Soon after finding a remote to control the chairs, Blake walked in with the last of the boxes. "Oops, sorry. I forgot I was doing something. I just got distracted and then I got lost and then I was just messing around and- wait- how did you afford this house?"
Blake scratched the beck of his head like he was embarrassed. "I got 1 million dollars from my dad. He's really sorry and wants to try again, so he's bribing me again."
"Oh. Are you ever going to forgive him?" I asked, worried that he would and his father would return.
"I don't think so. Mom want's me to, but that's just her opinion. I can do what I want."
"Good. I wouldn't trust him after what he did to you. I don't think you'll ever fully regain your trust."
"I'm not expecting to." Blake said, plopping down on the chair next to me and pressing the remote to turn on the TV. We spent the rest of the night chilling in the chairs and watching Netflix.
