The boards creaked gently as I slowly walked across them, trying my hardest to muffle the footsteps so as not to wake anyone. I eventually made it down the hallway after what seemed like hours of walking slowly, disturbing as little as possible along the way. "They'll never even know I was gone" I think to myself as I quietly open the second story window and hop onto the roof. I take a moment to look around at the beautiful scenery, taking a deep breath of the fresh summer air. A towering city could be seen in the distance, gently back lit by the almost fully set sun, towering over the trees. I walked to the edge of the roof, placing my hands on the edge and slowly lowering myself to a point at which I could drop to the dew covered ground without making a noise. I slowly make my way around to the front of my house and quickly moved to the end of my long winding driveway. once I arrive I see a group of my friends Louis, Ryan, Jerry, and one person I didn't recognize immediately. As I drew closer I quickly realized why I didn't recognize the fourth shadowy figure, I had never seen him before. I didn't have time to wonder why I had never seen this kid around this small outskirts town as Louis immediately called out to me in a half yell half whisper "Hey Loyd, what took you so long man. We've been standing here for half an hour. you said your parents went to bed really early man". I found it a little strange at first, usually Louis is the calm one of the group, but I wrote it off as nerves of sneaking out for the first time and him being anxious from waiting. I called back "My fokes where up for a solid 15 minutes longer than I expected". I laugh to myself and am greeted by silent stares. I find my gaze wondering to the new kid as i keep approaching and call out "Hey whose the new kid?", only to be greeted by the same spine tingling stares as before. I eventually arrive at the group, still silent as ever and ask "why are you all so silent, its starting to creep me out a little". Louis starts breaking down in laughter after a few moments followed by everyone but the new kid, who kept silent and solemn. "Don't mind gorge" Louis says gesturing twords the new kid, "Hes just a little shy, not used to the company. He recently moved here from the city with his family and we thought we would show him around". The new kid pulled the hood of his sweatshirt up over his head a little farther making him just a little more indistinguishable at the mention of the city. "You told him where were going right?" I ask, genuinely curios as to if Louis told this poor kid the plans for the night. Louis just smirked and lead the group off my driveway and down the road, starting out long walk to out destination.
